Life on The Hi-Line: Wednesday in Fort Benton
http://lifeonthehiline.blogspot.com/2015/07/wednesday-in-fort-benton.html
Life on The Hi-Line. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Wednesday in Fort Benton. In Fort Benton, you can purchase a museum pass that grants you entrance to five different museums. So we spent Wednesday and Thurs day both exploring the sights of the city. On Wednesday we started off at the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument. Like yesterday, the boys got a Junior Explorer packet. Martin was really excited about it, and searched the museum looking for the answers to the questions. Inside was mostly farm ...

Life on The Hi-Line: Pippi
http://lifeonthehiline.blogspot.com/2015/07/pippi.html
Life on The Hi-Line. Friday, July 17, 2015. Throughout the Fair, across from the 4-H food booth, there was a female clown who would run a show. She told jokes, did magic, painted faces and made really cool balloon animals, all for free. She was great. The boys loved her booth, and especially her balloon animals, and they were there several times. The first time Martin got a balloon sculpture he chose to get a fishing pole. Later requests were a bird on a hat and a mini-balloon-mouse. I am Thankful for.

Life on The Hi-Line: Good Friends
http://lifeonthehiline.blogspot.com/2015/07/good-friends.html
Life on The Hi-Line. Friday, July 17, 2015. What do you do at the poultry show? Act like a monkey, of course. What a silly question. Addendum a few hours after the writing of this post: I just read the post to Trent and he said: "I'm not acting like a monkey. I'm acting like Yoda.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Life on The Hi-Line: Wahkpa Chu'gn
http://lifeonthehiline.blogspot.com/2015/07/wahkpa-chugn.html
Life on The Hi-Line. Thursday, July 23, 2015. As our fun exploration of the day, we headed off to Havre, to the closest buffalo jump. The area was discovered in the early 1960s by a boy of 14, who noticed some white things sticking out of a hill while he was out rabbit hunting along the railroad tracks. He happened to be a member of an amateur archaeological society, and thus history was born. We took a bit to calculate it together, and he realized that it was more like 15 days of working round the clock.

Life on The Hi-Line: A French Repast
http://lifeonthehiline.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-french-repast.html
Life on The Hi-Line. Monday, July 27, 2015. Each time we have an IFYE exchange we ask them to make us a traditional meal from their country. It's a fun way for us to experience a bit of their home, and it gives us a dish to remember them by. Tonight was the night that Come chose to make dinner for us. He went fancy as well, serving us a three course meal. Although he did laughingly tell me that it wasn't truly a French dinner, because there wasn't any wine. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Life on The Hi-Line: We're in Canada...the United States...Canada!
http://lifeonthehiline.blogspot.com/2015/07/were-in-canadathe-united-statescanada.html
Life on The Hi-Line. Saturday, July 25, 2015. We're in Canada.the United States.Canada! Today was the first day that we've had to go all together as a family with Come on an adventure. So we asked him where he would like to go. We gave him several options: Glacier, Writing on Stone, Lethbridge and the Birds of Prey Centre, Waterton, etc. He chose Waterton.for several reasons: the main road through Glacier is closed due to wildfire, and he wanted to visit Canada. Looking down at the water. Trent had been ...

Life on The Hi-Line: A-hunting we will go...
http://lifeonthehiline.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-hunting-we-will-go.html
Life on The Hi-Line. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. A-hunting we will go. Or at least, a-shooting we will go. During Come's stay so far, the boys and I were gone for the first few days, and then we have spent a week at the Fair. So we decided that this week, we needed to plan some fun activities that were aimed at his interests. We do, after all, want him to enjoy his stay. Martin has a decent eye, and good aim. He put several holes in the pop cans they took out to shoot at. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Life on The Hi-Line: Maaa-aaaaa-aaaa-aaaa
http://lifeonthehiline.blogspot.com/2015/07/maaa-aaaaa-aaaa-aaaa.html
Life on The Hi-Line. Friday, July 17, 2015. The animal barns have had a huge draw for Trent. He spends lots of time wandering through them and looking at all the livestock and small animals that have come to the Fair. He still doesn't like. The roosters crowing in the rabbit and poultry barn. This year, he says "Stop making so much noise! To the roosters every time they crow when he is in there. In fact, sometimes he talks back when he hears them and we aren't. In the sheep barn. Zion, Zion, lovely Zion.

Self-Reliance by Jamie: Cherries!

Food for the hungry cannot come from empty shelves. Money to assist the needy cannot come from an empty purse. Support and understanding cannot come from the emotionally starved. Teaching cannot come from the unlearned. And most important of all, spiritual guidance cannot come from the spiritually weak" -Marion G. Romney. Sunday, July 8, 2012. I pitted them with my cherry stoner, cut them in half and then had some help from my 2 youngest spreading them out on my dehydrating trays. July 22, 2012 at 5:25 AM.
