Fifty Year Old Iron. Fifty Year Old Glass. At Mars currently builds two amplifier models, The Specialist and the Torque Amplifier. Both amps can be built into two styles of chassis salvaged from film projectors. Both amps use the same tube compliment, but feature different circuits. Both circuits use a 5Y3 rectifier tube and a pair of 6V6 power tubes. Outputs: Most versions of both amps feature 8 ohm and 16 ohm speaker outputs.

Fifty Year Old Iron. Fifty Year Old Glass. Here's where it gets a bit confusing! Because we build our amps into salvaged projector chassis from the '40's and '50's there are two styles of chassis that the Torque and Specialist can be built into. There is the 1940's Brown version and the 1950's Blue/Gray version. Aside from looks, both chassis are very similar. Both tubes are currently in production, but the 12AT7 is easier to find in a moment's notice.
