http://www.atouchofarkansas.com/2012/02/when-i-made-end-tables-for-my-sis-bro.html
Friday, February 17, 2012. End Table for Girl's Room. When I made the end tables. For my sis and bro-in-law a year ago, I made one extra with the intention of doing something with it at that time. Well, a year later I finally got around to painting it! Go to the link if you want to see how I built them. I wanted to paint a color that would fit in a girls room, I was going to put it at my mom's store, Weecycle, and thought that it would be a good color choice for her customers. I have put this table for s...

A Touch of Arkansas: Console Table
http://www.atouchofarkansas.com/2014/02/console-table.html
Tuesday, February 4, 2014. One of my best friends got married a while back and for their wedding gift, I wanted to build them a piece of furniture. I had purchased a piece of 1x12 from Lowe's a couple of years ago because I thought it looked cool and finally found the right project for it. I decided to build them a console table since they don't take up a lot of room and they are very versatile, so they could use it for any number of things. I framed the sides with 1x4's as well of course. I know someone...

A Touch of Arkansas: May 2013

Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Modern Outdoor/Indoor Consle Table. Well, it seems like it has been forever ago since I had contacted Ana White. About partnering up on a console table idea I had, and I appreciate her being patient with me on this one! I underestimated how busy I would get with my "real" job and weather was not always cooperative so it took me a while to get this one done! So I sent the pictures below to Ana and she sent me some plans and I got to work. And it is basically that process over and ...

Monday, January 20, 2014. Jeff and Kristin McClure. Chalkboard Wall Hangers II. Didn't want the other post about these to be too long, so same description, but different pictures. After doing the chalkboard serving trays. That I found on Shanty 2 Chic, I had a couple of 1x. Once you have them cut down, drill a pilot hole, put some liquid nails on there and screw it in. Then tape off how big you want your chalkboard area to be and I do 2 good coats of the spray paint and it works great. 12's sitting aroun...

A Touch of Arkansas: Kid's Playhouse
http://www.atouchofarkansas.com/2014/04/kids-playhouse.html
Tuesday, April 15, 2014. I was asked by my son's school to build a playhouse for their annual school auction and I dug around online for a few days and finally decided on a set of plans I liked. I went with the one pictured below, however, I decided to not use cedar since they wanted the playhouse painted. Overall, it probably took about 60-70 work hours to complete, obviously, the painting took a while, but it turned out great! This is a picture from the plans I purchased. Getting the base built. We bot...

A Touch of Arkansas: Custom Butcher Block Island
http://www.atouchofarkansas.com/2014/05/custom-butcher-block-island.html
Thursday, May 29, 2014. Custom Butcher Block Island. I had a friend of mine ask me to build him a butcher block top island that he could have friends sit at without having anything under the table and that he could also use to prepare food on as well. I looked online about building my own top and seemed rather complicated and found a site that you could get some good pricing on tops, so just ordered from there. And this is the final product, all set up and ready to hang out at or prepare some food on!
