Day 8 | joglewithgwen
https://joglewithgwen.wordpress.com/2015/07/29/day-8
This is my trip across Britain by bicycle. From John O'Groats to Land's End. July 29, 2015. August 14, 2015. I got up early my first full day in England. The sun was out! I knew it would be a big day crossing the Lakes District. There would be lots of hills and of course, the Kirkstone Pass. I reached the base at around 2. I’d like to say I was a big hero and rode all the way up, but I pushed my bike most of the way which was hard enough. I did ride a bit though! How lucky there is a pub at the top!

This is my trip across Britain by bicycle. From John O'Groats to Land's End. Day 0: Wick Airport to Seaview Hotel. July 21, 2015. Surly is getting on the plane. The plane to Wick. Small and kinda smelly. A fully assembled and packed bike! Seriously though. The wick airport staff were awesome. When my bike came off the plane the baggage handlers handed it directly to me instead of putting it on the conveyor belt. I guess we’ll never know :p. I think I may have been quite the entertainment! July 19, 2015.

Days 3,4,and 5 | joglewithgwen

This is my trip across Britain by bicycle. From John O'Groats to Land's End. Days 3,4,and 5. July 26, 2015. After my day of hell things got much better. The weather improved and it was all downhill all day! I ended up with a beautiful resting place right beside Loch ness… For free! The next morning I was not feeling well. I felt better after lunch once I got to Fort Augustus and I powered on. Got another campsite with a great view. But I had the best sleep and was ready to go the next day. Bettyhill to L...

This is my trip across Britain by bicycle. From John O'Groats to Land's End. August 7, 2015. August 7, 2015. I made it to Chepstow at a reasonable time and decided to stop and rest. I checked out Chepstow Castle. It was huge! I stayed at a little place called The Three Tuns. My room situated above the bar. I heard the piano, and as I left for dinner I caught the end of the young woman working the bar playing for everyone. I felt like the time I had wasted this day was the end. I was now too far behind.

This is my trip across Britain by bicycle. From John O'Groats to Land's End. It took me a long time to plan this trip and I hope I’m actually ready. There’s quite a few things I’m still worried about, but it’s getting to be to late for that. Whatever happens will happen and I’m sure I’ll be fine. This will be my first big bicycle tour. On the 22nd I’ll be starting my End to end ride of Great Britain, which will take me 15 days and a bit more than 1600km. I decided to change that at the last minute. Pleas...

Day 6 and 7 | joglewithgwen
https://joglewithgwen.wordpress.com/2015/07/28/day-6-and-7
This is my trip across Britain by bicycle. From John O'Groats to Land's End. Day 6 and 7. July 28, 2015. August 14, 2015. I got a late start on day 6. Breakfast wasn’t served until 9 so I slept in. After I left I was feeling fantastic after a good rest and good food. Glasgow was difficult to navigate as I had expected and I spent a good portion of the day getting through it. Once through Glasgow I got lost and it may have been my lowest point. Even Surly got in out of the rain. Days 3,4,and 5. What a gre...

This is my trip across Britain by bicycle. From John O'Groats to Land's End. Day 01: John O’Groats to Bettyhill. 80km. July 22, 2015. The day started out fantastic. The weather was on my side. I made a deal with a couple from Sweden to take my photo in front of the famous start point, and I would take theirs. It was hard not to take pictures of EVERYTHING! It was all so beautiful. Nice cycling along the national cycle route. Quiet roads with low speeds, and very polite drivers. There were a lot of sheep.
