Traveling Yogini

Monday, September 20, 2010. We decided to go on a little get-away for a belated honeymoon by ourselves. A friend of mine recommended Block Island, RI. What a treat it was. For $230 we got two nights accommodation at a B&B, two bike rentals for two days, and two round trip ferry tickets. Considering the bikes alone would have normally cost $180 total, we made out pretty damn well! We went midweek after Labor Day, so that's why we got such a great deal. Ahhhh, nothing like the fresh ocean air. Here's a coo...

Traveling Yogini: July 2008

http://atravelingyogini.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 15, 2008. That's right, I'm unpacking and packing up again! I'm going to Europe baby! I leave August 7th to arrive on August 8th in Athens, Greece. 24 more days. Paul lands 2 hours after I do.then the adventure begins. I've got the hotel reserved for Athens, but beyond that not much is planned other than going to the Greek islands, hugging the coastline until it cools off, then going inland to Eastern Europe where it's cheap until we finally make our way to Berlin. Traveling Yogini: May 2009

http://atravelingyogini.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 11, 2009. Why I Love Australia Part Two. I love the beach, but I was ready for something else. Besides, the last part of my trip was pretty chilly (in the 70s.which IS. Chilly for a South Australian summer). Paul took me to his family farm in Waitpinga. I was in love the moment we pulled up. It was so quiet and peaceful and. Something about the rolling golden hills overlooking the ocean and blue skies just makes my heart settle. How cool is this old thing? Got to drive it! How cool am I?

Traveling Yogini: May 2008

http://atravelingyogini.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 29, 2008. Well, unfortunately, I´m unable to figure out how to upload photos from this internet cafe.even if I could I probably wouldn´t because the internet connection is so slow I´d be here all day. So far, the trip has been amazing, beautiful, nerve wracking, exciting, and exhausting! We went to some ruins, a museum, and toured all over the city (man, there are a lot of churches.and a lot of couples making out all over the place). Ohand all of my travelmates are great! Stay tuned for pic...

Traveling Yogini: Honeymoon Part II

http://atravelingyogini.blogspot.com/2010/08/honeymoon-part-ii.html

Saturday, August 28, 2010. My mom left Sebasco and the four of us (me, Paul, and his parents) continued on to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We went camping here:. Paul's parents are troopers. Not only did they sleep on the hard ground, but they liked it! This was around the time my picture taking was winding down, so I don't have any pictures of our campsite. We went to Acadia National Park, which was gorgeous. Like father, like son. Paul makes friends wherever he goes. Up in the clouds. I tell yo...

Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad...: From the life of Mama Nomad

http://mamanomad.blogspot.com/2008/10/from-life-of-mama-nomad.html

Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad. Monday, October 13, 2008. From the life of Mama Nomad. I am joining Mrs. G. And her followers in a pictoral "Day in the Life." So without further ado, here is what 4 out of 5 days of the week look like for Mama Nomad. Lucky me, I like to sleep in and Papa Nomad takes the baby downstairs with him around 8 am. I roll out around 9:30 and usually see this first thing as I head downstairs:. So I drink a little black tea.(cup #1). And turn the kitchen into this! So for...

Bikes (or scooters) on the street- a daily affair. Issy made him a bed in the hall, and he really used it! My garden. really only going at 50% capacity this year. better than nothing, right? Our first time riding bikes with the public! Sunday parkways is awesome!

Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad...: George ramblings as dictated to Mayan

http://mamanomad.blogspot.com/2011/02/george-ramblings-as-dictated-by-mayan.html

Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad. Friday, February 4, 2011. George ramblings as dictated to Mayan. I left Mayan in the car to keep an eye on George while I ran into a store. I handed her a piece of paper and pen and asked her to write down everything Geroge said while I was gone, to keep her busy. This is what she wrote:. Fairy school=this is what Geo calls his daycare. Moog=what I call MG, pronounced Moo-j. My*, say what to make. My, make a picture of Gaga. Can I see Lady Gaga? I heart Naomi (si...

Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad. Friday, September 26, 2008. Blake, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and me. Blake introduced me to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' The Boatman's Call. As soon as our courtship began. Well, technically it didn't begin as a courtship as much as a fling with my piercer, but I digress. I don't believe in an interventionist God. But I know, darling, that you do. But if I did I would kneel down and ask Him. Not to intervene when it came to you. Not to touch a hair on your head.

Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad. Saturday, December 15, 2007. Ode to the Prairie Underground Hoodie. I could have and should have done this a long time ago. every time i discover another reason to love the this sweatshirt, i think to myself, gee i should write them a letter.or better yet write a blog! So, Prairie Underground hoodie, let me count the ways.:. 3) it's big. in terms of amount of fabric, when all laid out it covers some ground. for this reason it has been used countless times...4) it...

Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad. Wednesday, June 4, 2008. Baby g's first photo shoot. Ah, we are so lucky! Our dear friend Amy. Did a shoot for us at Nomad just before George-Ephraim's first moon celebration and, of course, the results are breathtaking. George-ephraim in a basket (oh, the hair! The nomad family (looking straight out of a magazine spread). Through the museum case. I don't know how she captured it but here is the shot that had us all rolling. Max and his little birdie. Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad. Thursday, March 22, 2007. Farewell to my Fox Hollow friends. I began volunteering a year ago when I saw a flyer at the local market looking for people to come in and spend time with the folks there. I had actually been looking for a volunteer opportunity because I think it is an important aspect to expose my children to- but what could I do and bring the kids with me? Mayan took this picture- Betty and Del. Del has the worst Alzheimers of anyone I've ever met...

Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad. Sunday, April 27, 2008. Born April 27th, 2008. 7 pounds, 9 ounces! Active labor: about 7 hours. After I posted, Blake got home around 7 and sure enough things picked up to 4 minutes apart and they got much more intense. 8:30pm: the girls head to bed but we assure them that they will be woken up when the baby comes. And by 11pm my smile has turned to this:. And then, after 2 hour in the bath, to this:. Blake holds his son:. I think she approves! Here is our boy!

The Best Ever Grill Rub. Tuesday, October 10, 2017. We grill year round in my house and there's one grill rub that I keep reaching for, time and time again. Double, triple, or quadruple the recipe to store in your spice cabinet because you will be using it on EVERYTHING. I grew up in the midwest in a house where we grilled year round. In the midwest, you experience all four seasons and that never stopped us once. Grilling commenced in the rain or in the snow or on beautiful sunny days. Black Pepper, fres...

A Traveling Wilbury

February 19, 2012. Or been, more like it. And back to fuck all. But back to where we started. It was an overly warm Tuesday when I set off for Camberwell, where Andrew was purchasing car snacks. We trundled our way up towards the highway, and soon enough we were cruising the Hume. A missed turn off, a Uey, and a correction later, we were well on our way. The tunes were cranking by the time we reached our first stop, Glenrowan. Andrew reflects in Glenrowan. 2002: a monumental year in Glenrowan. The highwa...

The best part about the day was that on average, the house wine was about 70 cents. For a pincho and wine, it basically wasn't anymore than 3 euros. Talk about ridiculously cheap!
