Attached At The Heart. Making connections that last forever. Was very knowledgeable and supportive. I highly recommend a doula, whether you are having your first baby or your fifth. Daddy got to meet Miles, by way of webcam, immediately after he was born. He was in the process of redeployment and was able to get home four days later. Miles took right to nursing without any difficulty and reached 16 lbs before he was 4 months old. Now, instead of hearing “Look at that hair! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Attached At The Heart. Making connections that last forever. Getting Ready for Baby. As I am expecting child #5, I figured out a long time ago that most of the things that you think you need with your first child are really not necessary. I have whittled my baby needs list down to mostly essentials with a few “nice to have, but don’t really need” items. Of course, by breastfeeding exclusively we won’t need any of the bottle-feeding paraphenalia, but I would like to make my own nursing cover. For babyR...

Sweet Sixteen | Raising Knights
https://raisingknights.wordpress.com/2010/07/18/sweet-sixteen
July 18, 2010 · Filed under Mothering. My first-born son turned 16 yesterday. Wow. Babies do grow up in the blink of an eye. As a new parent, you can’t wait for your child to hit certain milestones, like rolling over, crawling, walking, talking (you know better after the 1st one), pottying (and wiping) on their own, riding a bike, and reading their first book. Homeschool Preschool | Raising Knights

July 11, 2010 · Filed under Homeschool. I recently met a mom who asked about homeschooling her preschool-age son. I shared the following information with her:. As a dedicated stay-at-home mom, I’m sure that you may already do many of these things, but sometimes parents underestimate the impact they have. Everything is a learning opportunity for a 3 year-old and there will plenty of time for formal learning in the future. They need concrete, hands-on activity, especially 3-5 year-old boys. Sing songs, rea...

Chicken Tortilla Soup | Raising Knights
https://raisingknights.wordpress.com/2010/07/12/chicken-tortilla-soup
July 12, 2010 · Filed under Kitchen. I found this recipe on Recipezaar and we all love it. If there is any left over after dinner, it definitely gets eaten for a before bed snack or next day’s lunch. My husband says the flavor reminds him of his late grandmother’s vegetable soup, which is a good thing because I have tried unsuccessfully to duplicate it with my own veggie soup. Amazing Chicken Tortilla Soup (adapted from Recipezaar. 2 tsp olive oil. 1 med onion, chopped. 2 c frozen or fresh corn. Make you...

In social sciences, we studied a point in history. When the Philippines was colonised by the Spaniards, then by the Americans and then by the Japanese. We also learned about puppet governments and how our leaders would always have a first world country whispering behind their back what to do politically. There was a time as well when I thought that everything imported was better than locally made. So from shoes to clothes, to shampoo and soap! You had that Aquafresh. Toothpaste that was standing up.

Attached at the Nip. Musings, mutters, and memories from a nursing mama of twins. Saturday, October 13, 2012. Every few months Gus has a week or so where he is out of sorts and easily upset. He has multiple emotion storms (common parent-given label: temper tantrums) a day and it's exhausting for him and for me. Each time we cycle through this he's a little older and a little more verbal. This time around he's been able to tell me as he's crying his heart out "Mooooooommmmmy! Change the way I feel about y...
