The Attic Artist

Friday, September 30, 2011. Heading Out to my First Ever Book Signing. I'm pretty excited and weirded out. :). First of all, it's not a solo book signing, it's simply all of the published alums of my college congregating at the college book store. Which really makes it the perfect intro into book signings for noob author like me. :). But, as usual, I'm still in a rushed mess, trying to pack and do the dishes and finish printing off the things that need printing. Like this, for example. :). See the first ...

The Attic Artist: Guess What Came in the Mail....!!!

http://atticartist.blogspot.com/2011/09/guess-what-came-in-mail.html

Thursday, September 15, 2011. Guess What Came in the Mail! I'll give you a hint: it came in a box and contained many copies of something I've been working hard to polish this last month! If you guessed the first ever official copies of my self published illustrated children's book, you were right! Ferris Wheels and Faraway Places: Adventures at the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair. The blurb on the back cover reads:. Explore the 1893 Chicago Worlds fair! Each paperback copy is $15. September 15, 2011 at 7:21 PM.

The Attic Artist: The Maze Pg. 5

http://atticartist.blogspot.com/2011/05/maze-pg-5.html

Wednesday, May 4, 2011. The Maze Pg. 5. We're over half way there, folks, and things are getting exciting! And illustrated by me. May 4, 2011 at 10:00 AM. I replied to your comment! I like this comic, what program do you use to make it? May 4, 2011 at 10:07 AM. I actually did this in real media. I drew the comic out in non-photo blue pencil on 11x14 bristol board and then inked it with a brush and india ink. The thin background lines were done with a sharpie pen. The Attic Artist: March 2011

http://atticartist.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 6, 2011. Blue Doodles and Noodle Arms. Remember that blue sharpie I nabbed from the SEA conference? It got used quite a bit. :). So I drew this lady, stealing this kid. And decided, despite it's similarities to Tangled, it was awesome and there had to be at least two more drawings of them. Saturday, March 5, 2011. I've got a blog update and it's using real media (what a shocker, I know! I'm trying to use up the last few pages of my notebook so I have an excuse to buy a new sketchbook. ;).

The Attic Artist: April 2011

http://atticartist.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 30, 2011. The Maze Pg. 1. This semester one of the classes I'm taking is a graphic novel class. My half of the class does the art, while the other half writes it. Luckily for me I got paired up with my friend Kaitlin. Who is a fantastic writer and we set to work. :). The Maze Pg. 1. Thursday, April 14, 2011. Ferris Wheels and Faraway Places: Adventures at the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair. After a too-long absence from the blog-sphere, I return! And guess what I have news about. I'm a recent g...

The Attic Artist: Playing With Watercolors

http://atticartist.blogspot.com/2011/09/playing-with-watercolors.html

Tuesday, September 20, 2011. I'm woefully out of practice with watercolors. What does this mean? Just a picture of a pretty lady to warm up my watercolor skills. I'll post the finished version soon. September 21, 2011 at 12:39 PM. Love the subtle colors mixing under the at-a-glance-brown-more-when-your-gaze-lingers. September 21, 2011 at 5:21 PM. Watercolors are something that Im definitely working to get better at. September 25, 2011 at 11:41 AM. September 30, 2011 at 8:19 AM. View my complete profile.

Personalize your christmas stocking. In order to celebrate the season the best way I know how, I'll be posting the 12 Days of DIY December here. Check back every day for something new to make, bake, or create to get ready for Christmas! Somehow, the only member of the household who has a stocking here is Logan the cat. http://ficklekitsch.blogspot.com/2013/12/christmas-eve-check-in.html

I hope you enjoyed my 12 Days of DIY December posts and maybe were tried a few projects! I'm now back at the family homestead and was thrilled to see that my mom made a lovely card garland inspired by my post. Since a lot of my posts were of the theoretical nature, I just wanted to take some time this merry Christmas Eve to share a little bit of what I actually did for the holidays at my apartment! The secret to an awesome Christmas: lots of lights! As you can see, I embroidered and hung some stockings.

http://ficklekitsch.blogspot.com/2011/06/operation-update-revving-up-again.html

Operation update: revving up again. The job I had been interviewed for didn't end up panning out. It's disappointing, but I still have applications places I would really. Today, in a spurt of energy, I took the last of my "stuff" boxes down to the basement (except one I can't lift). Perhaps tomorrow I'll start cleaning out my closet to make room to store all the other. That said, I have accomplished a few of my update goals! This is the Jeslyn Comforter Set. Meanwhile, life went on. I scrubbed off my...
