Udrey was born in Ottumwa, IA. Her father was a great singer and director. He made sure his five children took piano lessons. Her tribute is to God for the gift of music as she has had only 2 years of formal training as a child of 6 and 7 years old. She was full time pianist for her church at 10 years of age and played for a City Wide Crusade at age 16.
