Craft with Confidence: Hero's Houndstooth!
http://craft-with-confidence.blogspot.com/2013/03/heros-houndstooth.html
Nice to Meet You. This blanket has been about a year and a half in the making. I bought the Houndstooth pattern. From V and Co. In October 2011 (on a side note, V and Co has a bunch of new patterns and they are all awesome! The original plan was to make him the quilt for that Christmas, and it didn't happen. Then I talked about when I bought the fabric, wanting to make it for Hero's birthday in this pre-baby to do list post. April 2012). That didn't happen either. There is a quick learning curve and whil...

Craft with Confidence: Straight-Jacket Swaddler Tutorial repost
http://craft-with-confidence.blogspot.com/2011/06/straight-jacket-swaddler-tutorial.html
Nice to Meet You. Straight-Jacket Swaddler Tutorial repost. Just reposting this from where it was originally posted. Last week on Craftaholics Anonymous. Have you ever experienced the frustration of trying to swaddle your baby with a blanket, just to have them break out of it as they wiggle while trying to fall asleep? And then, of course, they don't fall asleep. Or, have you bought the swaddle wrap with the blanket bottom and have them kick out of the bottom of it? I've experienced both of these. Round ...

Nice to Meet You. Wow Am I the meanest blogger ever? I tell you a week ago that I will be having my baby the next day and then nothing. Well, sorry to make you wait, but meet my newest little guy, Dragon. His "code name" for the blog is the English translation of his Chinese middle name, just like the other kids. Look at all that hair! All of my kids have come out with hair, but his is by far the thickest. This little guy came into the world fast! The time line went something like this:. I'll do the list...

Craft with Confidence: February 2013
http://craft-with-confidence.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Nice to Meet You. Baby Sock Monkey Costume. For Halloween last year, Hero wanted to be a Power Ranger. I borrowed that costume from my mom's old stash. Easy! Pretty didn't have a strong opinion, so I just asked my sister what she had in Pretty's size and borrowed that. Pretty was excited about getting to wear "red sparkle shoes" as Dorothy. Easy #2! I loved it and thought, I can do that! I also used thrifted sweaters. I had these baby pants. Pinned FOR-E-VER, and thought they would be perfect! Now, just ...

Craft with Confidence: FAQ
http://craft-with-confidence.blogspot.com/p/faq.html
Nice to Meet You. Um, so there aren't really any yet. But I thought you might want to know why I call my kids Hero and Pretty. With my husband being of Chinese decent, we wanted to give our children both an English and Chinese names. Therefore, their first names are English with Chinese middle names. Hero and Pretty are the English Translations of the Chinese middle name. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Mad Hatter Hat Tutorial. Baby Food Jar Party Favor Tutorial. Rockin' Boy Slippers Tutorial.

Nice to Meet You. EPIC ROOM MAKEOVER entry! This is my shameless attempt to get an awesome makeover! Before I moved into my first house almost a year ago, I spent the week between closing on the house and moving in at the new house super late every night. I was cleaning, shampooing carpets, and most importantly, painting! Sadly, I only took the time to paint the two kids' rooms. They look great (check them out here. But I didn't have time to do my room. I figured I'd tackle it soon. Please vote for me!

Craft with Confidence: Pretty's Girly Room
http://craft-with-confidence.blogspot.com/2012/04/prettys-girly-room.html
Nice to Meet You. One of the fun things about buying a home was getting to create a boy room. And a girl room. While there is still decorating to do in both, the two kid rooms were a priority for me to paint before we moved in. And they are still the only rooms I've painted so far. Here's my sister, Audrey. Helping me make stripes (she also helped me with Hero's green stripes). Here's the finished product, taken just this morning. You can see the blue reflecting in the mirror. So pretty! I have a lot mor...
