Call it Courage | Everything I'm Naught
https://aughtornaught.wordpress.com/2014/05/30/call-it-courage
Everything I'm Naught. May 30, 2014. Cowards run, forever in fear of death, of change, of pain, of any challenge that elicits questions about their purpose. The valiant, however, recognize that in order to truly live, they must die and be reborn. In the darkness, I could only feel the cold and jagged destination awaiting me, mocking me as I couldn’t distinguish my tears from my sweat as they streamed from my eyelids and over the bridge of my nose. It took longer than I thought. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Everything I'm Naught. September 28, 2014. Being his safety net was somehow reassuring, the knowledge that he would be back to fall into me, a comfort. even though it was always temporary. loneliness does that. the yearning heart will accept the unacceptable when it means a moment without pain. a moment of forgetting he was not mine. Wishing for the Blues | Everything I'm Naught
https://aughtornaught.wordpress.com/2015/01/17/wishing-for-the-blues
Everything I'm Naught. January 17, 2015. Wishing for the Blues. The Blues. It didn’t occur to me how absurd an analogy to depression this is until I found myself annoyed to see it in the myriad articles on depression. Like a poorly made sweater, it doesn’t quite stretch over my head, and I can only fit one forearm into a sleeve because it just doesn’t fit. And I’m not sure I want it to. It’s too ugly and exhausting and lonely. Like Taupe. Justbleh. (Credit: manhattan-nest.com). Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

dangerous mind | Everything I'm Naught
https://aughtornaught.wordpress.com/2014/03/11/dangerous-mind
Everything I'm Naught. March 11, 2014. Mind games are possible because the mind is the greatest weapon in our possession. like any handgun, self-inflicted casualties are likely when this weapon is handled without care. Things are only as important as we think they are. we assign value and meaning to everything around us, and treat those objects and ideas according to their worth. but the danger is a fearful mind; no weapon so powerful should be handled by something so. AUGHTRY LIFE | our life in words and pictures
Our life in words and pictures. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Following in big footsteps. August 6, 2015. There is a photo that sits in our living room. It shows a man in his 30s and a young boy sitting on the front fender of an old Ford with California plates. The boy in a sweater. The man in likely the nicest clothes he owned at the time: slacks, hat, shoes, but no socks. I always wonder what happened to the socks. John and Robert Williams, California, circa 1942. Their hard work&...
