The surrounding area is steeped in history. The Inn itself being over 500 years old was reputedly one of Robert Burn's watering holes when he farmed along the river Nith at Ellisland.

We use locally sourced produce to create imaginative bar meals, seasonal and varied, featuring lamb and pork from Dunscore, prime Lockerbie beef and west coast landed fish. In autumn months pheasant, rabbit and venison is available from neighbouring estates. Our split level function room with private bar is a popular venue for weddings, anniversaries, christenings and corporate events for up to 125 guests. For smaller private dining parties the breakfast room is available for up to 20 guests.
