One Sunday recently we decided to go for a stroll along Nierinna Creek at Margate. The path winds its way behind lots of hobby farms along the creek. It was a lovely rural walk. Pandanus in flower. This was the first time I have ever seen them flowering. I was thrilled to bits to see them everywhere on the mountain. Saturday, 20 September 2014. Glimpses of Government House.

We found the track that we were to take and I fell in love with the variety of moss. We traveled up and up, high above Waterfall Bay in search of the waterfalls. The thing I love about bush-walking is the things you find. High above the bay. Wild flowers blooming,. Even the green hooded orchids. Rocks jutting out of the sea.

What a lovely day we had recently as we traveled to Wayatinah which is now a bit of a ghost town after the Hydro Electric Commission finished the power station. It is now inhabited by a skeleton crew that keeps the power station ticking over. It did make me giggle. This bridge crosses Lake Meadowbank. Recently while bushwalking along the Pipeline Track, I reached a part where private properties back onto the track. It seems that the landowners have placed a gate so they can also access the track from their properties. There was a lovely collection of shapes, colour and texture. I'm likin' the lichen. The area was popular with birds as the owner of a local cafe puts out seed for them on the railing outside his business. This is the Shot Tower which is at Taroona, just down the road from Sandy Bay. Looking into the gardens of the houses, a collection of relics can be found. The boathouse near the Casino. Echiums looked lovely the the gardens along the waterfront.
