Author-in-the-trenches: So...what are you reading?
http://author-in-the-trenches.blogspot.com/2013/04/sowhat-are-you-reading.html
Have faith. What is meant to be will always find a way. (Kobi Yamada). Thursday, April 18, 2013. Sowhat are you reading? This is a question I'm often asked by book clubs and although I'm never NOT reading (my nightstand hosts a teetering tower of books) I do read many different genres. For example, I enjoy short stories and typically read 3-4 collections a year. Most recently these include. Bobcat and Other Stories. By Rebecca Lee,. This Cake is for the Party. By Sarah Selecky and. By Kathryn Stockett,.

Have faith. What is meant to be will always find a way. (Kobi Yamada). Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Ask any author with a family and I'll bet "huge swaths of uninterrupted writing time" will be at the top of his/her wish list. It's a luxury we dream of the way others dream of shopping until they drop. I know it won't be like this forever, but these days I have more stops and starts than I care to count. Here's a sample of this week's juggling act:. And let's not forget these:. We talked for an hour - about t...
Author-in-the-trenches: Quick Wake-Up Call
http://author-in-the-trenches.blogspot.com/2012/03/quick-wake-up-call.html
Have faith. What is meant to be will always find a way. (Kobi Yamada). Friday, March 16, 2012. My husband (who is, for the record, a good driver) drove our son to school earlier this week for a seven am badminton practice. My kid was half asleep when hubby had a rare brain fade and almost missed the turn for the school. He braked at the last second, took the turn, and the car hit gravel and skidded sideways, almost putting them in the ditch. Happy Friday - Drive safe! Join me on Facebook!

Have faith. What is meant to be will always find a way. (Kobi Yamada). Thursday, September 6, 2012. Doing the right thing. When I got up this morning, I found this bowl on my kitchen table covered with Saran wrap. The note sitting on top was from my teenage sons. If you can't make out the words, it reads,. Live mouse, no idea what to do. As I'm sure you can see from the second picture, they gave the little guy a bit of water and some graham wafer crumbs in case he was thirsty or hungry. Big Bad Book Blog.
Author-in-the-trenches: Last cat standing
http://author-in-the-trenches.blogspot.com/2012/07/last-cat-standing.html
Have faith. What is meant to be will always find a way. (Kobi Yamada). Saturday, July 14, 2012. When I first met my husband (long before we ever married), he admitted he wasn't a cat lover and I shrugged and said I could take them or leave them. Fast forward ten years and we were married, had four cats, a Newfoundland dog, and two kids under the age of five. The third one was a massive, silver-haired cat who looked perpetually stoned and probably should've been born in the 70s. My six-year-old son sa...

Bacon, Beer, Books. Thursday, May 31, 2007. Author of two novels already on the shelves,. Stopped by my blog the other day and left this comment. How interesting that you write women's fiction (I read your profile). Not in a bad way, of course. In a very cool way. It's such a broad,. Wide open market that calling it 'women's fiction' seems unfair, don't. All the research in the world can't compare to real life experience. So talk to me. Tell why I'm wrong, or why I'm right. 1 New York Times Bestselling Author of the Wings Series. Monday, November 26, 2012. WINNER and Time Vortexes (Vortices? So something weird happened last week. Last Monday I was walking down the sidewalk on my way home to announce a winner for the Lesley Livingston contest when suddenly a time lord (who looked remarkably like David Tennant) swooped down and carried me away! So a week of my life was sucked into some kind of time vortex, never to be seen again. Do you doubt me? June G of Paranormalists!

When dogs aren't garden gnomes, or humans for that matter. I used to be the sort of person that loved a good fight, or crusade. If someone even hinted at maligning a friend of mine - I was there! If someone disagreed with me about an issue close to my heart, I pulled out my proverbial soap box and got down to business! I adored Julia Sugarbaker. I loved a good rant. (I still do, really. If you're ranting - link me! Except that dogs aren't humans. Dogs are den animals. And dogs do just fine in a c...So I ...

1 New York Times Bestselling Author of the Wings Series. Thursday, May 08, 2014. Welcome to the AFTER THE END blog tour! Amy's Truth or Dare. This is one of Amy's special author-hosted Truth or Dare stops. (The truth-or-dare theme is particularly relevant to AFTER THE END, since Juneau's oracle has said she has to tell the truth or she won't find her clan.) I opted for "truth," giving Amy this topic: I want to know the grossest/most desperate thing you've done while under deadline. Everything was a lie.

A video is worth a thousand words. Hannah and I are both passionate really about aesthetic. And though we aspire to different things (me: a writer, hannah: a designer), both of our aspirations ultimately have the exact same goal: to make the world a more beautiful place. I think (& hope) that's a common goal with most all of us. Today, however, I thought I'd post some pictures I took last week of some of my favorite boys (the brighter things) for their band (myspace.com/easterislandmusic). We are excited...

Author Intrusion
Thought and comment from author Rod Duncan on writing, film making, creativity and dyslexia. Saturday, 10 May 2014. Dyslexia and creativity is a contentious juxtaposition. Large numbers of dyslexics work in the creative industries. That isn’t disputed. But there is a stark difference of opinion about why. Do they work in creative roles because they are ‘disabled’ by the condition and thus can’t find any other jobs? Or does dyslexia cause them to be more creative? I didn’t make it up. I just put...To me, ...
