Happy: January 2016
http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Saturday, January 30, 2016. It has been about a month since Carrot started playgroup, and I realise I haven't mentioned this milestone at all in my blog! So here's a little post to mark the fact that my little baby has graduated from the "infant" stage. The first day of school! 姐姐 was much more excited than 妹妹was. Outdoor play in school. Introduction to the world of worksheets! Carrot with her classmates. I think there is a total of 5 of them at present. A life a...

Happy: May 2016
http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Friday, May 27, 2016. When Peanut was Carrot's age and going through her toddler days, I was struggling with nausea and tiredness and grumpiness from being pregnant. I feel like I missed out a little on her toddlerhood as a result, and have been entertaining a small but nagging regret ever since. It's not easy, obviously, with a Peanut also constantly hollering for attention around, but at least I'm not suffering from any physical ailments that may hinder me.

http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2016/12/adieu-2016.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Saturday, December 31, 2016. Here's my photo wrap up p ost t. O mark the end of 2016 . And to make it a bit more interesting, I wanted to try and post a (as yet unpublished) photo of the gals taken on each month of this year, to see how much they have grown this year. So here goes. Aken on one of our trips to Vivocity. Peanut is still looking a bit toddler-ish here. And Carrot is definitely looking the baby part. On the way to school on a rainy morning. A shot of...

Happy: Peanut's first dental filling
http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2017/01/peanuts-first-dental-filling.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Peanut's first dental filling. I took some time off work to bring her for her treatment this afternoon. I think I was more nervous than her. Here she was, happily playing with the toys at the waiting area. Peanut was in quite a good mood throughout, and quite happy to go to the dentist. (Heaven knows why! But I'm not complaining! A close up shot. And so this is the story of Peanut's first dental treatment and her first filling. It's...

Happy: October 2016
http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Sunday, October 30, 2016. And that is basically the story of my irrepressible second child. I hate to admit it, but I'm a little at a loss as to how to proceed with her. I have scolded her, negotiated with her, sought to persuade her, hit her hand, and caned her hand. But nothing really seems to work with her. Not very effectively anyway. Been proven very effective with her (am I not hitting hard enough? There are some good things that can be said about Carrot's ...

Happy: November 2016
http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Saturday, November 26, 2016. Peanut's End of Year Concert. It's that time of the year for graduation concerts again! Before going to school for the performance. We were a little kiasu, and arrived about 30min before the performance time so that we could snag some good seats. This was particularly important given the small area and the fact that there was no elevated stage. We ended up in the second row this time round, not bad! Lar's Up the Tree. To be honest, th...

Happy: A good Christmas weekend
http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2016/12/a-good-christmas-weekend.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Wednesday, December 28, 2016. A good Christmas weekend. This post is a little overdue, partly because I got complacent by the fact that I had met (and exceeded) my own KPI of 48 blog posts per annum (yay! So I thought I could afford to slack a little. In the process, I ended up accumulating many photos and thoughts, and while I had initially wanted to throw everything into one monster post, I decided eventually to split it up for easier digestion. These are the g...

Happy: January 2017
http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2017_01_01_archive.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Time for the Chicken. Christmas was not long gone before I started getting nagged at by Peanut about CNY decorations. And again, it was thanks to our neighbour who put up their CNY decoration on their main door quite early on for all to see, thus earning me the disapproval of my firstborn for not following suit. Darn these efficient neighbours! A smile for the camera! And here's a picture of Carrot triumphantly holding up a shell. I for...

Happy: Interview with Peanut 2017
http://pearltofu.blogspot.com/2017/01/interview-with-peanut-2017.html
An experiment in writing and photography. Tuesday, January 03, 2017. Interview with Peanut 2017. On 1 Jan 2017, I conducted an interview with Peanut, following the practice from the previous year. This time round, she was just standing beside my computer as I typed, quite focused and enthusiastic in giving her replies. Here are her answers, at 4 and a half years old:. Q: How old will you be this year? A: 5 years old. Q: What are your wishes for the new year? A: I wish for all my family to be good to me.
