Thursday, July 9, 2009. Ava learning to play nice. Ava first had to learn to play nice with the cat, before we could introduce her to Nathan, but she just ended up taking all of Clyde's toys. Then we thought we'd let them parallel play, so far, so good. Before you knew it, they were kissing cousins.(special thanks to Calvin for the gorgeous photos - we'll have to post up the rest of the photo shoot in an album). On 4th of July, Cassie taught my baby to play the drums, and Ava learned to "share".

A beautiful stroll to Ghirardelli Square, the Wharf, and the Pier. We've actually never been to Ghirardelli this early and silly us didn't realize it would be closed. Also, sadly, we were not in the mood for yummy sundaes at this early hour. Jack obviously enjoys the loud and stinky sea lions. They are enjoying the strolling tour of San Francisco,.

Saturday, August 8, 2009. So, obviously Daddy is having a good time. But Ava had no interest in the hippity hoppity balls, she wanted to blow bubbles. This was a lot of messy fun. So we knew we had to distract her with the playground.we. Then there's the disc swing. And of course, how could we possibly miss the real swings. Sunday, July 26, 2009. Back into the swing of things. Ava missed her friends. And I think they missed her too. They apparently needed some privacy? Daddy thought maybe Ava needed to be re-introduced to her tent. And she did seem to enjoy it for that one night, and then a few nights later after she had not paid any attention to it and we were trying to fold it back up to put it away. Ava enjoys getting in her rays. She'd let us swing her until she falls asleep! So, this basically sums up the rest of July.

Just in case anyone is still wondering - people who had a "log in date" of April 15, 2007 (as we did) still have an extremely long wait for a "non-special needs or older child". Currently, the "referral date" (date you are assigned to a child) is only up to MARCH 14, 2006. Babies are "referred" only one. Time each month. Over the past couple of years only 2-8 days are referred at a time. Is my math right? What do you think?
