Monday, November 22, 2010. Needless to say, today I was exhausted. I felt kind of sick, and just plain ol' lethargic. So I decided to sleep in, eat a healthy oatmeal breakfast, enjoy a french press of coffee and catch up on my blogging. While I was relaxing listening to music and blogging I got up to heat up some more water for tea and you'll never guess what I saw outside my kitchen window. That's right friends it was a moose. Thursday, November 25, 2010. I am thouroughly enjoying this holiday. I spent most of my day in my stretchy pants, sweatshirt, and wool socks. and loved it. When I woke up this morning and got the water on the stove to boil for coffee, I looked out the window and it was SNOWING! It looks so beautiful and I am thankful for that. Other things I am thankful for. My opportunity to be in Alaska. Oatmeal with cranberries, almonds, and almond milk. yum. New friends [and roomies]. Time to relax and crochet. Here ...

Sunday, October 31, 2010. That next morning we headed into the CYAK office to go through a little orientation, and to meet some of my new office mates! We took a little break and headed over to Pandemonium to get some coffee and meet a few of the team members who work out on the road system. As part of our orientation we got to go on a 'mini fieldtrip' to this place called hatcher's pass. It was beautiful. Next in our list of must-do's while mom was in town was to go to Anchorage. We saw a few sights.

Monday, November 22, 2010. And i'm off again. The conference took place in Unalakleet, which is actually the Village where the bible camp is located. I was already dying to get out there and see what it was like, plus Sue and Byron just began moving out there so I was thrilled to be able to go visit! Monday, November 1, 2010. My first weekend in Alaska I was able to join some of the CYAK team at a youth worker training weekend in Mountain Village. This weekend was put together to let youth workers in the Yukon Delta region get together and talk about what is going on with the youth. This was an amazing opportunity for me for so many reasons. 1 I was able to see what a village is like. 2 I was able to hear first hand what is happening in the different villages. Monday, November 22, 2010. Wow, I am so blessed. Since I've arrived in Alaska I have already had two opportunities to go out to villages. This past week I was able to be apart of the planning for the High School retreat, known as Fall Blast.
