Many of my design and construction philosophies can be attributed to watching and working with my father for many years. Whether it be framing an addition to the house, landscaping the backyard, or plumbing a new sink, there was always a sense of pride and integrity instilled into every project. The do it right, or don’t do it at all mentality my father portrayed is the foundation for each piece I create.

Last week my parents came to visit us for 5 days. On the first day we visited the Denver Zoo, showed my parents my shop, and bbq’d Omaha steaks courtesy of KPMG at the Becker’s. Monday night Chels and I went to the Nuggets game. Here are a few photos. Tomorrow we will be heading back to Cedar Rapids for 10 days. Snowed in on my birthday! Today was my 23rd birthday (old balls I know) and Denver decided to surprise me with 12 inches of snow. Chelsea got to leave work at 1 and we had a relaxing afternoon hanging around the apartment. We walked to Baker's St. for happy hour drinks (having a bar within walking distance is great when it's too bad out to drive). Anyway, here a few photos from today:. Baker St. patio. More Family Visits in CO. Over the past few weeks we've had several family members and good friends come to visit. We've been so busy having a great time that we've forgotten to post pictures! First Chelsea's family and our good friends the Larson's came to visit for a week. A few days after they left, Chelsea's grandparents, her brother Jordan, Jordan's friend Tommy, and our good friend from college came and unfortunately witnessed the slaughtering of the Cubbies vs. the Rockies. A few weekends ago Chels and I flew to Chicago for Brett's bachelor party and to spend a long weekend with Doty and Crissy. Vegas and J.Doty. Over Mother's Day weekend Chelsea met her mom and dad in Vegas (coincidentally, Matt was there as well). Along with plenty of sun, cocktails, and gambling, Chelsea and her mom scored 2 free tickets from a random guy in the elevator to the Bon Appetit Grand Tasting at Caesar's Palace. I didn't dare ask what they did to get these exclusive tickets. Below are some photos from their trip. At the Grand Tasting. Album Leaf at the Bluebird. I went and saw the Album Leaf last night at the BluebirdTheater. I've been listening to the Album Leaf since middle school and have seen them twice before at Gabe's Oasis/Picador in Iowa City. They always put on an amazing show. Sorry the videos are a little dark.
