http://mqmoxie.blogspot.com/2009/05/saturday-morning-waffles.html
Musings of an insignificant organic lifeform in a backwater galaxy. Sunday, May 10, 2009. So she’s out having fun with the girls in the windy city and I’m back home managing two precocious kids. It’s a lot like being a Drill Sergeant, with a little less authority. This morning I made waffles. It was actually the first time I can remember making waffles. Musings of an insignificant organic lifeform in a backwater galaxy. Monday, October 18, 2010. My kids don't remember a day that we weren't at war with Iraq or Afghanistan. Ponder that for a moment. Any kid under 12 does not remember a day we weren't at war and yet I'd be willing to bet precious few of them have had to sacrifice anything because of it. So you have an entire generation that believes war comes with no real sacrifice. How frightening is that? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, April 24, 2009. Deployment Lessons 1: Taking care of myself. What's really crazy: It was about a year and a half ago that I heard about and voluneered for this deployment. I've done a lot so far to make myself into the kind of person who is ready to go to war, and I've realized that a lot of my lessons so far can be applied to living life in general, including:. Getting a head start. Yeah, all that administrative stuff? 20 push ups here, a few sit ups or lunges there, a one mile run is better tha...

The seats at our one stop, Ramstein. We arrived at night and when the wheels had stopped and the doors opened the familiar smell of burning ...By the ...

Sunday, August 2, 2009. This is my second time through Leipzig, fifth time in Germany overall, and while it's not my favorite trip here (tough to beat the Bavarian Alps), it's always good to visit, even if it's just an airport lounge and gift shop. Saturday, August 1, 2009. I'm on my way home. As the tailgate of the C-130 opened a Soldier shouted over the roar of the engines, "Is this still Iraq? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
