We left Sunday morning and came back late on Tuesday night, so just two nights, but it was a great success. (Such a relief after the earlier fiasco.) Sunday, July 31, 2011. Some more State Fair pictures! Kayla and Justin riding the swings and Kayla and Andrewe helping Justin and Garrett go fishing. We also saw Jojo and his little brother Nico for some rides and games. Justin was finally able to ride the Monorail. We met some friends at for some swimming at the pool followed by dinner at Mizu. For Mother's Day we went to the Hyatt in Burlingame for brunch. They had a fantastic brunch to celebrate the fantastic mother's in our lives. We had our own private room. Sunday, August 31, 2014. Grandma and Grandpa visit. Sebastian and Liesl were beyond thrilled to have the Raabs visiting this week - they crept downstairs at 6 am every morning and divided up - Sebastian and Grandpa going over to the school field to play soccer, and Liesl and Grandma cuddling in bed and reading stories. Both kids loved it. And, as an amazing bonus, I was able to sleep in until 6:30 for the first time in years! All in all, a wonderful visit. "Come back soon! Saturday, August 30, 2014.

Sunday, September 21, 2014. Little monkey girl, high up on the playground structures. We visited the Portland Art Museum, which has a visiting exhibit from the Tuileries Garden and the Louvre. The children enjoyed the sculptures and the scale models of the palaces and gardens, and we had a fun moment exploring the pointillist art. Tasting cheeses at the Portland Farmers Market. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. The summer is slipping by, with work and camp days, home days with adventures, and lots of sibling togetherness. The children are still really enjoying their camp experience (another blog post with pictures to come) and I am so grateful. Dance dance dance, let's go for a hike, go Steelers! Let's make muffins, blueberries, you're the best, I love you, let's go climbing, etc. But my personal favorite is the sign they hung above our bed, which says: "Let's have fun!

Friday, August 7, 2015. Yet more from camp. The camp scheduled a yoga class one day, which Liesl loved. She did eagle pose, she did the bridge, and during the final relaxing pose (shavasana) she fell asleep on the mats. :). These building blocks are a big hit with my kids - it seems that they build something nearly every day, usually on a giant scale. Steve's comment after seeing this video: She's awesome on drums!
