Avid Q & A. Want to put a track in the middle of the sequence and not at the bottom or top? Alt Ctrl/Opt Cmd U lets you insert tracks. Easy as 1, 2, 3! So many Avid editing tools, so little time. Click the Timecode track to exit different editing modes! Shift click can be such a pain. Select everything with a lasso but be careful about selecting filler! Unless you want to, of course! Avid Q & A. Misspelled a saved bin setting and want to get rid of it? Delete them in the Avid project window by clicking it and pressing D-E-L-E-T-E. Don’t use the menu. Menus are sooooo slow. Map menu functions to your Avid keyboard. Look for the keyboard in the project window. Save extra Avid keyboards for different purposes. Copy the keyboard setting in the project window, rename it and map it to your liking! Want a million functions available at your fingertips? Make your workspace a masterpiece!

Avid Q & A. Want to be a multitasking guru? In Avid, type descriptions in the capture tool while digitizing. All the cool AEs are doing it! Numbers go up or down.(Usually down in terms of my finances! If timecode numbers don’t move at all, you’re at the end/beginning of a tape! Don’t wanna capture a whole tape? Click on the Avid Capture/Log Button in the capture tool to log specific timecodes. The Capture Tool has shortcuts too. If you wanna capture ASAP, press F4 to get things going!
