Library Binding: my Stiff READ poster
http://librarybinding.blogspot.com/2008/07/my-stiff-read-poster.html
Libraries bind people together to create communities. Sunday, July 27, 2008. My Stiff READ poster. This is one of my favorite books, because it treats a scientific and serious subject (death) with wit and offers a unique look at what happens to bodies that are donated to science. Reading this book made me want to donate my body to science after my death. I also became a librarian so that I could help people who are, themselves, considered outsiders in our society. Just some thoughts I've been thinking.

One man and his Chickens...: Lewes Boccia club update
http://onemanandhischickens.blogspot.com/2011/07/lewes-boccia-club-update.html
Wednesday, 6 July 2011. Lewes Boccia club update. Since I started Lewes Boccia there have been some changes. I always envisaged the club to be open to everyone without limitations, but to start with I had to narrow the field down for what was specifically needed at the time which was a club tailored to my son Zak's needs. Since running the taster sessions and the multisports sessions at Wave Leisure centre, the club has at last totally opened up to all ages and all disabilities. Overall it was a good day...

One man and his Chickens...: Inspirational Easter!
http://onemanandhischickens.blogspot.com/2013/03/inspiration-easter.html
Sunday, 31 March 2013. Since I was outside and it's easter - I thought I'd carve something with my chainsaw in a Eucalyptus log. I found it very relaxing and the hour I spent carving went in a second! My son Kane thinks it's amazing! What a fantastic kid! I need to make some slight adjustments and clean it up, but what do you think of my first effort? Kane– Ancient Tiki God of Light and Life. Stunning - a great replica of Mayan art - and Inca - and Hawaiin and Maori - its perfect. Sun Mar 31, 10:38:00 pm.

One man and his Chickens...: Something different!
http://onemanandhischickens.blogspot.com/2012/03/something-different.html
Sunday, 4 March 2012. Today I wanted to do something different! So I made bread! Frugal Mum of 3. Nothing beats a home made loaf of bread. Sun Mar 04, 10:27:00 pm. Hmmm I can almost smell it Stiggy. I love home made bread. In fact we had to freeze one of the loaves I made a week ago or we would have eaten the lot! Not good for my waistline - but warm bread with melting butter is sure good for the soul! The best flour I have ever found in a supermarket is the Canadian flour - works every time. Picture Win...

One man and his Chickens...: Lewes Boccia club is here!
http://onemanandhischickens.blogspot.com/2011/02/lewes-boccia-club-is-here.html
Saturday, 26 February 2011. Lewes Boccia club is here! After a few weeks of looking for a Boccia club in our county, I found that most of the 'clubs' available were either within schools or residential places. I did find one locally, but it was for people 60! That was in a residential home anyway. She put me in touch with the manager of our local centre, and a meeting was booked for the 14th January. It all seemed to happen so fast after that. I had the meeting with the manager and a young man who's ...

Thursday, 10 January 2013. Testing 1, 2, 3! Ok my first post by smartphone app! I never got into Twitter, mainly because people on there generally spout all sorts of pointless nonsense. Anyway I look forward to seeing how this form of blogging works out for me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A man, his Chickens, life and everything inbetween. View my complete profile. One man and his Chickens...: Fallen tree surprise
http://onemanandhischickens.blogspot.com/2013/03/fallen-tree-surprise.html
Sunday, 31 March 2013. A few weeks back we had two Eucalyptus trees fall in the wind - it didn't help them that they were undermined by rabbits. Out of all the plants and trees in our garden my favourite were these. I loved the fact the bark just peeled off them to reveal the wonderful coloured trunk underneath, the reds, yellows and greys are amazing. Not least because they seemed to spiral around the trunk and catch the light on a summer's day. I spent £100 on a 37cc Spear and Jackson chainsaw. Ten Dol...

One man and his Chickens...: Sunday roast.
http://onemanandhischickens.blogspot.com/2013/04/sunday-roast.html
Sunday, 7 April 2013. Jo has been rather ill this weekend, so I took it upon myself to cook dinner. Roast chicken, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots and peas. It's been over 15 years since I last did one of these babies. I was pleased with everything apart from the peas which I overcooked - but hey ho, you can't have everything can you! What a great effort. It looks really tasty - I hope it wasnt one of yoru chickens! So very sorry that Jo has not been well - please wish her a speedy recovery from me.

One man and his Chickens...: Not all fun and games!
http://onemanandhischickens.blogspot.com/2013/01/not-all-fun-and-games.html
Thursday, 24 January 2013. Not all fun and games! Well I don't seem to be able to do anything but work and sleep at the moment. What with the snow and bad weather recently, it's not been easy at work in the yard. The timber is frozen together and it seems I spend a large proportion of my time breaking apart packs and lengths of wood! Now, a lot of our deliveries are to farms and places in the country - you can see from the photo above that the quiet lanes aren't gritted at all! What a day THAT was - it's...
