May 2007 until january 2008: parts of east, south and west africa. A long time since writing, and I’ve been up to a LOT; so much that I’ll divide the posts up by country. The next morning (Monday, August 13) I arrived in Windhoek at about 5.30 am. They lent me 5 Namibian $ (about 80¢) and told me to stay at a hostel called “The Cardboard Box.” We had plans to meet later that night to see Shrek III, but that changed. He, and everyone else is from Chicago, or has some connection to Chicago.
