Thursday, March 24, 2011. Avondale Seamen's February 9th Meeting. So now that we've smoothed the curves, and blocked the straight lines, the templates are ready to attach to the 3/4" mahogany plywood that will become the bulkheads. We attach the templates using several small screws. We then cut close to the routing blocks to remove as much excess plywood as possible. Dave carefully cuts about 1/8" to 3/16" away from the routing blocks. Here's the templates attached the plywood awaiting the table router.

Although it required a few more steps, it will dramatically reduce the amount of time and labor to recreate the bulkheads should we decide to build a second boat.
