Colorblind photographer at large. November 19, 2014. Just down the road we spotted a couple of Hooded Mergansers. These diving birds tend to be quite skittish. They swim away when they get nervous. Even when I get a clean view of these birds I find it challenging to get a good exposure that does not blow out the white cap of the male. It’s much like a bride’s white dress next to a groom’s black tuxedo… not easy. November 8, 2014. 4 thoughts on “ Time out. November 19, 2014 at 5:23 pm. Enter your comment ...

A bit of a story | Bruce McCammon Photography

Colorblind photographer at large. A bit of a story. December 30, 2014. December 30, 2014. I’d heard about Katy’s best friend, Marlee Blue, from both Jon and Anne. I got to see Marlee from a distance but never talked to her that day. Onsite she is all business. Don’t mess with a strong woman preparing for a major race. I’m glad I didn’t actually need someone to tell me that. Marlee (left) and Katy moving the shell to the water with their team. Vancouver Lake, 2013. Katy Gillingham, Holy Names Academy, 2014.

Colorblind photographer at large. November 8, 2014. November 11, 2014. November 11, 2014. I heard my friend cough a bit behind me and turned to see his beautiful dogs running full steam toward me. They ran past me and came back to get a bit of petting. Great dogs, running free. We talked a bit and my friend returned to the house to start coffee and breakfast. I’ve known Steve since I was in kindergarten and think of him as my brother. His generosity is unbelievable. Deep thanks Steven. Beautiful photos&#...

I crossed a new threshold - figured out I'm at 150 pages read/researched for every page of writing - that ratio will surely climb soon. I don't even want to consider how many of those pages have been re-read (at least once! So many words, so few great apes - ergh! November 18, 2015 at 10:55 PM. Colorblind photographer at large. Spring in the Gorge. April 9, 2015. April 9, 2015. I tinkered around with some native bleeding heart blooms on the way back to the car but none of the frames will find their way to this blog. More practice is called for… and less wind. I sat for a minute and thought about what Stephen Gingold. Would do with such a scene. Close in on the details of the small falls? Change the shutter speed? On the road again…. The Girls in the Boat.
