Awa on the Road. My journeys, discoveries and fascinations. WHY ON THE ROAD? GORENJE – Chapels and church. Slovenians seem to be as religious as the Poles. At least in the countryside. There is one slim church in Gorenje. It dates back to 1391 and bears the name of St. Cunigunde. Awa on the Road. My journeys, discoveries and fascinations. WHY ON THE ROAD? WPC – Coal miner path. 350 meters under the ground level. In almost complete darkness…. When the coal mine Guido in Zabrze was opened at the end of XIX century shadow could only be lit up by oil lamps (like the one on the photo).
