closetfeminist: away from the fray
http://closet-feminist.blogspot.com/2010/09/away-from-fray.html
The on going journey of one woman's gut feeling of anger and dismay at equal opportunties for women to, hopefully, becoming a fully fledged confident feminist. Monday, 27 September 2010. Away from the fray. Here is a blog. That covers book reviews and news - I like it cause it is clearly set out and covers books I have/would like to read. Also the blogger is a feminist. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Education, info and training links. My thoughts street harassment. Away from the fray.
Poor But Positive: A Magic Summer Evening Long Ago
http://poorbutpositive.blogspot.com/2010/04/little-piece-of-magic.html
Sunday, 11 April 2010. A Magic Summer Evening Long Ago. I like Saturday Live. On BBC Radio 4: always interesting conversations with interesting people. This Saturday, in the midst of all this interestingness, one phrase really resonated. 8220;We've all got that little bit of magic, that stays with you all your life . a place of inner calm and happiness", said actor Charles Collingwood (Brian Aldridge in The Archers). I hope its true that everyone has such a place. It is. True for me, and it's this place.
Poor But Positive: April 2011
http://poorbutpositive.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, 24 April 2011. The Bluebells this year are lovelier, by far, than I have ever seen them. When Spring comes around again, one of its greatest pleasures in southern England. Is to go and see the bluebells that carpet the woodlands with a hazy blue. They are prolific in hazel woods, which in turn are prolific around here, and usually have been coppiced for centuries, providing a perfect bluebell environment. And I have never seen them lovelier than they were today on the Downs of West Sussex. Just m...

Poor But Positive: Orpheus: the Mythical. A Musical by Richard Stilgoe and the Orpheus Centre
http://poorbutpositive.blogspot.com/2010/07/orpheus-mythical.html
Wednesday, 21 July 2010. Orpheus: the Mythical. A Musical by Richard Stilgoe and the Orpheus Centre. I have never been to a musical by a mixed group of performers with and without disabilities, but I did last night: it was magic, and I'm totally bowled over. Now, recently I have been engaging in some. Lightly amusing self-deprecation by dropping a few celeb names here and there. In "It's True! I met Rihanna .". I said that my life-time total number of brushes with celebrity is three. Named after Orpheus ...
Poor But Positive: Zucotti Park: The Police and the Occupation
http://poorbutpositive.blogspot.com/2011/10/police-and-occupy-wall-street.html
Friday, 21 October 2011. Zucotti Park: The Police and the Occupation. This is the text of an e-mail message from a friend of a friend, giving his thoughts on the Occupy Wall Street demonstration in Zucotti Park, near Ground Zero in New York City, and especially the role of the police. He. Was one of the first responders after 9-11 and worked there for several months. I found what he wrote both moving and politcally important. I hope he will write more. Downloaded from Flickr. Poor But Positive: A Poem for 9/11. by Ani DiFranco
http://poorbutpositive.blogspot.com/2010/09/in-memoriam.html
Saturday, 11 September 2010. A Poem for 9/11. by Ani DiFranco. Even more angry, and even more righteous, is "A Moment of Silence Before I Read this Poem" by activist Emmanuel Ortiz. Check it out, if you havn't already. A Moment of Silence Before I Read this Poem. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What IS this all about then? Just me paying close attention, and trying to understand what the hell is going on. Zubin Mehta and Placido Domingo: lessons in leadership and life. I met Rihanna . BUGGER Ive forg...
Poor But Positive: A Churchyard in Surrey
http://poorbutpositive.blogspot.com/2010/08/churchyard-in-surrey.html
Sunday, 29 August 2010. A Churchyard in Surrey. Paradoxically perhaps, as a non-believer, I love churches. Especially parish churches. It's the history I think (you don't have to look far to find centuries of evolving social relations), and the quiet atmosphere, together with the astonishing achievements of art and architecture all around, not to mention feats of engineering - often entirely by hand. And the complex web of human and spiritual longings that they embody is always moving. So it's pretty old.
Poor But Positive: Some Beautiful Thoughts on Getting Old.
http://poorbutpositive.blogspot.com/2010/11/some-beautiful-thoughts-on-getting-old.html
Saturday, 27 November 2010. Some Beautiful Thoughts on Getting Old. I've forgotten what they were. 27 November 2010 at 19:48. I have that problem. 5 December 2010 at 16:20. That made me laugh! But i know the feeling :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What IS this all about then? Just me paying close attention, and trying to understand what the hell is going on. Zubin Mehta and Placido Domingo: lessons in leadership and life. Five things I like about Newport Beach (but three things not so much).

Away from the fret of the world
Away from the fret of the world. Friday, September 30, 2011. I love fall. I love the trees decked out in their party clothes, russet apples, orange pumpkins, colorful mums, color everywhere. I love the scents, sounds and tastes of fall, burning leaves, wind rustling the drying leaves, apple cider. I love the way the fallen yellow leaves line the sides of our road. I love frosts and caterpillars and geese flying south. Friday, May 13, 2011. THIS is the life. Make no mistake about it, this. I love reading ...

Guadalupe Mountains National Park: Finding Spring. Spring rarely visits Cheyenne, Wyoming during spring break. So if we’re to truly have a spring break we have to go find it. So where can we find new leaves unfurling, smell the fragrance of wildflowers and walk in a t-shirt, even sweat in the heat of the sun? For spring hike...

Away From The Home Teams
Away From The Home Teams. Soundtrack to a season. March 8, 2012. One of my many Walter Mittyesque fantasies growing up involved the movies. I loved and still do get a huge kick about the little things in a movie, particularly the right song setting the mood for a scene. Combine that with a youth where all available money was spent on compact discs, and you got a teenage weirdo who made a lot of mixtapes. Doug Fister – “Complete Control” by The Clash. If he has it, we’ll have a...Brandon Inge – R...
