Foreignness of Foreigners: Cairo, Egypt
http://theworldlysoma.blogspot.com/2009/07/cairo-egypt.html
Notes from my travels with photographic accompaniment. Just click the photos to view the full-size version. I am in Cairo right now. I have been here for almost a month! I finally went to the Pyramids over the weekend. It was as amazing as I thought it would be. We rode camels the whole time. That was not amazing. Camels are uncomfortable. But the Pyramids and the Sphinx and all that sand. man. It was a singular experience standing before these relics. Where I deposit my travels, be they near or far.

I do right now, but that would be starting something in the middle and I have no interest in that. I will post my trip at a later date. It'll all have to be backdated, unfortunately. Thanks for being patient. This entry was posted by Soma, on Friday, July 13, 2007. You can leave your response. Where I deposit my travels, be they near or far.

These two are right across La Seine from each other. Le Louvre is free for under 26-year olds every Friday night. Score! Le Louvre begins here. This weird coffin thing is made up of scarabs. Shudder. One of my favourites:. This sky, this is for you. Can you spot the interesting thing about this picture? Where I deposit my travels, be they near or far.

Notes from my travels with photographic accompaniment. Just click the photos to view the full-size version. Breakfast in America et La Notre Dame. Didn't do much yesterday. Just chilled at Jardin du Luxembourg and read a book while Elena was in class. Had my first crepe authentique. Went to the French version of Publix, Monoprix. Went out to a bar with Elena, her roommates and her friends. So many cute boys. Damn the French. The Elenas (Elena and Alayna). Best part of today: MIME! Will have video up soon.
