This week we did mint cuttings from harvested mint in gullies of number 6 greenhouse and put into trays with pumice on the flow bed, cuttings we did earlier like this have taken very well and growing great! Arugula seeded up on this date is ready for harvesting on the 9th month according to records kept from last year which is a pretty quiet time for business here on the herb farm! Lots of weeding done! Planting some cavolo nero kale in the soil beds in #3 (outside) as a trial to see how it grows and how much we will be able to harvest off it in spring/summer. Have made a new seeding up area in greenhouse #6 which is a great idea, will make seeding up easier as its in the greenhouse and out of the wind and the rain! Week 9 may 21. Week 8 May 14. Not sure wot happened with my experiment on primed seed coriander but as the photo shows this week the normal coriander appears to have germinated much faster and more evenly than the primed seed! Maybe I could try soaking th primed seed in water to enbibe the seed for germination but then that would defeat the purpse of the primed seed! I think we will stick with the seed we know🙂.

Busy week on the farm, have been having colder mornings now and everything looking very autumny, and feeling the same! Plants have stopped growing as fast and germination has slowed noticeably! 8230;may have to use a heater soon to keep germination room warmer for seeds. Coriander experiment, Slowbolt vs Primed = Slowbolt wins!
