One of the most serious problems facing rural communities in Africa is the lack of water, and particularly the lack of safe, clean water suitable for drinking and cleaning. Solar powered technologies can help mitigate this dire situation with minimal costs by using a solar panel to power a water pump. This solution requires low maintenance, has very low operational costs and cannot run out of power as it gets recharged every time the sun shines, which in Africa, is every day.
