Monday, December 5, 2011. As Taipei gets dark around 5-ish this time of year and the sun was already setting by the time we got to Taipei East yesterday, we decided to return for the iconic landmark Taipei 101 today before we check out in the afternoon and leave for Jiufen. The lift was set to impress as we arrived at the observation level on the 89. Floor (or was it 101st? In the span of a short commentary given by a guide inside. Clearly, YQ was not impressed. Taking shelter from a sudden drizzle and f...

Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Above: Arrival at Pu Dong Airport.). Above are pictures of my trip I somehow can't seem to recall where they were taken, but I realize that whenever I travel, I usually favour scenery over shopping, tranquility over traffic, small town cafes over big city crowds. Above: Public square near Yu Yuan Gardens. I think this was where we just had dim sum.). Above: In need of some caffeine boost. Starbucks in the vicinity. Moments. But this is where the people are! 2 Lao Ye Shang Hai.

Route Thoughts: November 2006

Speculative abstractions and Projective formulations of my world. Thursday, 30 November 2006. Alvaro Siza's Casa de Cha Boa Nova. A Frank Lloyd Wright influence is discernible in this very earlywork of Siza's - his Casa de Cha Boa Nova in Portugal. And in turn, Siza might have then infected Enric Miralles. FIRST ESTABLISHED SINCE 27 AUGUST 2003 UPSAID. I know the wall which my huge heineken irish hat is hanging on is definitely structural cuz it makes a different sound from the other wall i have my bed against when i bounce my pink rubber ball on it. And i know that once it hits past the 1.8 m mark on the wall the ball bounces upwards and hits the ceiling before i catch it. The 15 mark comes back straight to me. And any lower i have to bend to catch it! Posted by Lai Ping at 4:27 AM. 2 fingers = 1 tot.

FIRST ESTABLISHED SINCE 27 AUGUST 2003 UPSAID. Maybe I am getting older,. As I was watching the last few shots of the worthy winners for Olympics,. I couldn't help but felt tears in my eyes. When I see them cry in elation. I felt happiness deep in my heart. When I saw the guy from Ethiopia win (or did he? There was a skinny guy from Morocco. Who had tears streaming down his cheeks when he got the gold medal as well. And i was going to cry with him too. And badminton who lost in the finals.

FIRST ESTABLISHED SINCE 27 AUGUST 2003 UPSAID. I am waiting for my turn at a go in the bathrooms. Meanwhile, with my fishy stinking fingers,. I shall add an entry for today. I just got back from a 5 hour fishing trip of st kilda pier. Started out at 7am we sat in a small sailing boat. While crossing the choppy waters (which made many puked! I met a lady called heather on the boat. And we started chatting. Between misplacing my stomach a few times with an occasional potential lurch here and there,. Was ki...

Sunday, January 1, 2006. Friends were cordially invited to AT and RV's wedding in JB on New Year's Day and we decided to arrive one day early to spend New Year's Eve out of town and away from the usual crowd for once. Afterall, there was a 5-star complimentary accommodation too good to be missed :D. I'm not much of a crowd person so the waterfront seafood dining and after-dinner drinks at Senibong. Was the best New Year's Eve I've had to date! Labels: m a l a y s i a. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Saturday, December 3, 2011. Morning in Hualien as we fuelled up for the trek ahead. Taroko Gorge was voted top spot to visit in Taiwan in many travel recommendations we read and I had high expectations for it. But it turned out to be so huge we had to engage a taxi and visit the site in parts. Six to be exact (many more were closed due to tremors and rockfalls). It is not that it is not spectacular, it’s just that the way to see it turned out feeling a tad bit too touristy. Beware of killer bees. Along t...
