Sunday, August 14, 2016. A couple weeks back, we went on a vacation with extended family down towards San Diego. We actually stayed in Encinitas, a ways north of there, just south of Carlsbad. Our hotel was only a block from the ocean, which was a good part of the reason we'd stayed there. Well, we weren't expecting THAT! Turns out, we caught it right at an extreme high tide! Monday, September 16, 2013. Here's a project I did the other day. As you can see in the first shot, kitty cat's. Claw post is ALL tore up! He's vicious with those claws! I've seen the claw posts wrapped with rope, and that seemed like a pretty good way to go. Figured all I'd have to do is get some nice, fibrous rope, unbolt the post from the base, pry the top cap off, secure the rope under the top cap, wrap to the base, and bolt it back on with the rope under the post! And the final results?

Friday, December 30, 2016. Scruffy Swallows a Water Heater. A few weeks back, I was doing some dishes one evening. Towards the end, I start running out of hot water. Hmmmm. that usually doesn't happen! A run down to the basement confirmed my worst fears: the water heater had sprung a big leak! The good news is that apparently it happened right then, and it hadn't fully flooded the basement! Nope, nope nope! Guess I know what I'm doing on my day off! Ran the rope around the hatch, and we were on our way!

Sunday, November 30, 2014. The Post-Halloween Tradition Continues. Here it is, a month later, and here's the post-Halloween destruction video! This year I had two cameras rolling, so here you're getting two different views. The other pumpkins I'd bought never got carved, either. A big, time consuming part of carving them is hollowing them out, so that is a big part of the reason they didn't get carved. We left them out on the porch railing. Apparently, if you wait long enough, they hollow themselves out!
