I was restless since I first saw a slice of it from Diario di Cucina. Then , days later @ fior dizucca. Also featured on TasteSpotting, and that was it; I knew the first chance I get, I will bite into it! I have googled it, and there are two versions out there, the one with ricotta cheese (mhmmm), and this one, with lemony, vanilla dream in a torta!

About 2 lb (more or less) butter biscuits (rectangular butter cookies, crunchy, see here. 2 (17 oz each) chocolate pudding powder (not the instant one). 2 ½ cups milk, for pudding. 6 tbsp of sugar. 2 tbsp (or more if you like sweeter) powdered, confectioners sugar. 2 sticks butter or margarine, unsalted, room temperature. 2 cups (or as needed) milk, warm, to soak the biscuits. Recipes like this one, Pillsbury Grands! Monkey Bread. It's great to make for kids, or big kids. Family and guest will all enjoy. Awesome for that special sweet breakfast too! Quick, easy, yet it will taste very homemade. I have omitted walnuts and raisins because of kids, otherwise would have loved to try with them too.

Vanilla slice - Krempita. 2 sheets of puff pastry. 1,5 l / 6 1/3 cups milk. 150 g / 5 ¼ oz corn starch. 3 packets (9g each) vanilla sugar. 200 g / 7 oz sugar. 8 oz whipping cream 1 stabilizer. Now put the whole sheet on the bottom of the pan, and spread the filling over it. Arrange the cut out sheet on top. Refrigerate for few hours before serving. Dust with powdered sugar.
