khhast: What I've learnt in June
http://khhast.blogspot.com/2013/07/what-ive-learnt-in-june.html
Monday, 1 July 2013. What I've learnt in June. Emily over at Chatting at the Sky. Is having a fun and serious link-up. About "What I've learnt in June" today and I thought I'd join in. 1 I can cope with my daughters without assistance better than I thought. 2 If I keep plodding, work gets down. (But when I don't plod it can be sitting waiting for weeks! PhD work has been plodding, and progressing slowly, but I still have a pair of pjs cut out and waiting to be sewn. 5 Printing out documents and reading t...

khhast: May 2013
http://khhast.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 May 2013. This week seems to have been much more productive than the last. I have emailed both my ethics application and my current-form-of critical literature review to my supervisors. Feeling like I'm starting to get somewhere. I finished the first pair of footsie pj pants for Miss S, and she is super happy. Wearing them to bed tonight (after wearing them around all afternoon since I finished them). They seem to have plenty of length for her to grow, so might manage to last her two winters.

Friday, 12 July 2013. A bag of tricks. So, I did a bit of sewing a few weeks ago, and I was going to blog a bit more detailed than just a "I made this" but it has taken me this long to get around to it. Here we go. So I decided Miss A needed some kind of containing device for her toys that were starting to get played with more and then being messy around the living room so I made a soft fabric box / bag-thing:. Bag base, showing seams joining at right angles. It was really easy to whip up, and is really ...

khhast: on black
http://khhast.blogspot.com/2013/09/on-black.html
Friday, 13 September 2013. I know it's been a while since I wrote. That's okay. Things have been rather busy here. I've come to the realisation in the last few months that I feel better wearing black, at least on my top half. This seems boring, and I have fought it for years, I love bold colours, and for some reason I feel guilty if I'm only ever wearing black, but I feel most comfortable and confident if I am in black. And Miss S is now 5 and has thoroughly enjoyed her first week of school. View my comp...

Sourdough Starter – Conclusion

Living the creative life. Sourdough Starter – Conclusion. October 16, 2013. Well, dear readers, my attempt at creating sourdough starter has finished, not with a bang, but more with a light popping sound. After getting frustrated and losing interest in the project, by the end of two weeks my would-be starter looked more like a soupy mess. I went and was completely smitten with this pin. Homemade Honey Oat Bread. Thanks to Darla over at bakingdom.com. Just LOOK at that bread! Rise, but was still not doubl...

Living the creative life. November 3, 2013. If the painted pumpkins. Didn’t give it away, this year’s Halloween costuming was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed. Adam and I went as a Channel 6 Cameraman and star reporter April O’Neal, while the Crafty Baby went as ninja turtle Michaelangelo. Adam and I managed to put together our costumes from things we already had around the house, or found at the local thrift store. From the website Fleece Fun. We took the evening one creative step further, tossed the...

Swistle: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen; Social Obligation
http://swistle.blogspot.com/2013/03/salmon-fishing-in-yemen-social.html
I acknowledge my luckiness, without giving up my claim to the suckiness. March 24, 2013. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen; Social Obligation. I can't really think of a movie title that appeals to me less than Salmon Fishing in the Yemen ( Amazon. Then last night I set up what was in my other Netflix envelope- -and it was an HBO series (HBO's motto: "We're allowed to use sex and swearing- -and it shows! NO IT WAS REALLY GOOD. There was barely any salmon-fishing in it at all! There are a lot of cute earnest con...
