Challenge I don’t really remember because we had lots of cardio and I hate cardio (well, not really, I just don’t do enough of it) and this is where the lack of sleep set in. I always feel a little guilty when I let someone into the apartment complex when they don’t know the gate code and can’t get a hold of whoever they are trying to visit. On Wednesday we drove from Tel Aviv to Sdot Micha, a moshav halfway to Jerusalem, so Slate could have a four-hour lesson in basic blacksmithing with forge artist and internationally-acclaimed master blacksmith Ze’evik Gottlieb. While I chatted with his amiable colleague Meir about all sorts of things, Slate got to first watch, then assist, then practice under Ze’evik’s supervision. The stroke is swing-drop-bounce.
