Today was Brix’s first birthday, and of course we had all the typical parental feelings… “I can’t believe it’s been a year… what a year it’s been… I can’t believe how much he’s changed.” It has been quite an amazing adventure. Josh took the day off and hung out with the boy and they both came to my class for a little birthday celebration. The 4th and 5th graders were so excited to celebrate Brix’s big day, and I don’t think it was just about the brownies, but who knows…. Some light morning reading.

We headed up to Brockport to celebrate Uncle Ethan’s high school graduation. Brix got to meet a couple more uncles and his cousin Jake. That leaves two more uncles to meet. 2nd 1st Birthday Party. My mom came in to spend time with us over my spring break and to celebrate Brix’s 1st birthday. We had a few people over for some yummy snacks and brightly colored cupcakes. Luckily it was a lovely day and we all headed out for some early spring sunshine. All-in-all, I’d say the day was a success. Nana and Brix discuss the details of the event.
