Sunday, June 22, 2014. There is nothing like riding a 100 mile MTB race and making it a point to point. The term 'epic' is thrown around loosely, but the Cheq100 is truly worth of the label. In need of a bike that would keep my streak of Cheq100 finishes alive. Dusted off Ozzy (Pivot Mach 4, 2011) for version 5.0. The bike has been left unattended for way too long. Monday, July 22, 2013. Pro XCT and a little R R. It’s been both a busy and then relaxing the past few weeks. We got started last Friday by loading up the big car with enough bikes, gear, cats, camping supplies, and food for 2 people, 4 races and a week’s vacation. Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Sunday was officially the cap on my base phase prep for the season, month 3 of 3 of the big miles. I typically do 3 weeks of progressively harder volume followed by a recovery week. This past week was the biggest of the year for me and I capped it off with an 80 mile ride Saturday and then 103 on Sunday. That gives me about 20 hours for the week. Monday, May 19, 2014. Spring Training and Racing. The gates dropping on the WI race season. It seemed to be a long time coming but things are finally in full swing on the MTB racing scene. I got a little later start than planned this year because of an unexpected trip to Florida to say goodbye to my Grandfather and then catching a bug on the way home. I finally got out on the bikes about 2 weeks later than planned and I knew things were going to be tough that first race. Chasing the leaders in 6th spot.

Sunday, April 27, 2014. Dickie Scramble P/B Silence. LCR math time. 5 of my guys were in for the Scramble, but they all dropped like flies (each with a unique excuse) leaving none. 15 min prior to start up flies a Johnsen with all grins. The one guy that didn't commit was there in the end. Thanks to Drew Wilson (aka Silence) for putting a worthy loop and event together. Was certainly worth the drive to the southern edge of north iowa to partake in his version of a legit grind fest. Links to this post.
