Love Vintage: We love the 1940s!
http://lovevintageblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/we-love-1940s.html
Wednesday, 9 March 2011. We love the 1940s! This week we are reviving all things 40's. The decade may be known for a drab, utilitarian, 'make do and mend' look due to wartime restrains, but we think the 1940's have a lot to offer to fashion history. Take these beautiful photographs for example, taken by Cecil Beaton and John Rawlings for vogue in 1940 and 1943. Photos from wgsn.com. Or this Glamorous dress by american designer Claire McCardell:. More 40's looks and inspiration to follow. :).
