L'isolotto è rimasto scollegato dalla terra fino agli anni '50 ed è caratterizzato da case dei pescatori ticiche. Oggi ci si può arrivare anche in macchina, ma noi preferiamo prendere il Marken Express (30€ andata e ritorno) dal porto di Volendam su cui imbarchiamo le bici. Riprendiamo il Camper in direzione Zaanse Schans.
