I have a lot to say. Trying my luck in a new birding spot. On the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society forum, there is a thread developed by an enthusiastic birder who actively birds the slopes in Ho Man Tin. Wonderful birds often turn up there. I firmly believe that the birding potential of slopes around district service reservoir. Transport to Ho Man Tin convenient. It only takes 15 minutes to get there. This is my first reconnaissance. Hi Louis, great to see a fellow blogger! Lung Fu Shan is quiet.

I have a lot to say. Venturing into the Lamma. There were several things on my desk. 1 An abstract to be refined in order to make an oral presentation in a conference. 2 Three journal articles to be read. 3 A paper to be finished soon for application for publication. Some time was spent on Photoshop to make the photos more beautiful. Great bird and wonderful shots, it will surely be one of the highlight of this Spring! Sure I heard that dozens of birders have visited the Lamma for this rarity!

I have a lot to say. I shall return for the bittern. A summer visitor has returned. A week ago, I rambled through Hong Kong Park pondering whether summer visitors would be attracted to this little paradise. Seeing nothing, I intended to leave. Suddenly, something amid the reeds caught my attention. As quickly as the bird gave away its hiding place, it was identified without delay. A yellow bittern! Unfortunately, there was no camera in my bag. It means that I should and I must return for the bittern.

I have a lot to say. Lung Fu Shan, December, 2015. Having heard from several reports saying that flycathcers are present in Lung Fu Shan, I persistently went there to look for them. But it is a pity that the visits were in the afternoon. This may have decreased the probability of the encouter of those flycathers. Nonetheless, there were some good birds. I have a lot to say. Crake in Hung Hom. On Tuesday, the photos of a Slaty-legged Crake have been circulated on a Facebook page. A friend kindly tipped the location of this bird. I consider rails and crakes interesting because of their appearance and behaviour. Many species of rails and crakes look alike, with a rounded body, long toes and bands on the underpart. They walk tactfully in the understory vegetation. It was so friendly that it walked towards the photographers. Two spotted doves were around.
