A blog about being a mum in Hobart. Egg bath – great old wives tale. Got a great tip from a friend. If your baby has a rash or any dry skin etc, give them an egg bath, especially good for those rashes and things that pop up when they are very newborn and their skin is adjusting to the outside world. Caution – egg allergies and ingestion of raw egg* – I must admit I didnt even think of egg allergies until after I had given our little one an egg bath! Luckily she is not allergic! 8211; wash baby as usual.

I found it a great way to see where bubs and me where at from week to week. It also continues on once bub arrives with info on milestone, introducing food… well just about everything really! Http:/ www.babycenter.com. The Australian version (I haven’t look at this one as much but I assume all the info is the same).

Be warned to get there early as there is nothing like going shoulder to shoulder with a sleep deprived mum who has been up since 5am (or earlier) to get hold of that cheap car seat, cot, or Bumbo! My 1 year is up and I have to figure out how much money it will cost if I don’t go back to work as opposed to what I might save on child care. Finding it very hard to get into child care at that.
