High Heels & Combat Boots: September 2012
http://highheels-combatboots.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
High Heels and Combat Boots. Wednesday, September 26, 2012. A hiking we will go. This past weekend we ventured off the peninsula, and headed to Big Sur. It was a beautiful weekend so we thought we would take advantage of the weather and do some hiking. We had a wonderful day and enjoyed getting out and doing something together! I've never been very far on Hwy 1, but it was a beautiful, and crazy ride! The highway runs right along the edge of the coast and gives you some breathtaking views of the ocean.

High Heels & Combat Boots: August 2012
http://highheels-combatboots.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
High Heels and Combat Boots. Thursday, August 23, 2012. Getting my craft on. So, I feel like I've lost my creative mojo lately. I've gotten behind in my knitting, my sewing machine is broken, and I'm afraid if I bake I'll sit and eat the entire cake by myself. However, one of my coworkers had a birthday this week and it inspired me to get crafty again. I saw this link. On Pinterest showing you how to make a cupcake bouquet and decided to give it a try. I found a great recipe. My bouquet. Super cute.

High Heels & Combat Boots: Autumn in Monterey
http://highheels-combatboots.blogspot.com/2013/11/autumn-in-monterey.html
High Heels and Combat Boots. Thursday, November 14, 2013. Fall has come to Monterey. It is starting to get chillier, the air a little crisper. It's not like a New England fall (nothing is quite like that) but it's still been very nice. The fog is mostly gone and the days are clear and sunny. We had some visitors in Oct. and we got to get out and enjoy some of the sights (and many of the restaurants! Charlie has started "roaring" lately, so we ask him all the time "what does a lion say? I haven't crochete...

High Heels and Combat Boots. Wednesday, February 5, 2014. So, here's me again, not blogging in forever and now trying to play catch-up! Between the busy-ness of the holidays, family visiting in Jan., trying to figure out our move next month and all that goes along with being a wife and mother I have once again slacked. Here's a quick update on our lives:. Celebrated Christmas in Southern CA with my brother Micah and ALL of Phil's family! Uncle Micah helping Charlie with those walking skills. Musings of a...

High Heels & Combat Boots: Conquering the mountain...
http://highheels-combatboots.blogspot.com/2013/12/conquering-mountain.html
High Heels and Combat Boots. Wednesday, December 11, 2013. We live in a gorgeous area, with many, many things to keep us busy! There's some great hiking in the area, and we try and get out regularly to enjoy the many hills and trails. The toughest trail in the area is Garrapata State Park, which is a 5.5 mile hike with an 1800ft elevation gain. Recently, we strapped Charlie on and conquered this mighty peak. It's definitely a tough climb, but the views from the top were phenomenal! Musings of a Housewife.

High Heels & Combat Boots: November 2012
http://highheels-combatboots.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
High Heels and Combat Boots. Sunday, November 18, 2012. So, we're all still alive and doing well. This fall has just been flying by! I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week. Although it's been kind of a blur, we had a wonderful visit with my grandparents in October. We showed six seniors around Monterey, and they kicked my behind! Bump and Deb, my amazing grandparents. I was able to get some pretty neat photos at the Aquarium. Pt Lobos was beautiful, as always. The deer let us get so close!

High Heels & Combat Boots: August 2013
http://highheels-combatboots.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
High Heels and Combat Boots. Thursday, August 29, 2013. Rock you, baby. Charlie is pretty good about going down for his naps. He also goes down well for bedtime, although it took a little while to get there. He's still not sleeping well at night, but I think I'm finally starting to adapt to being up every few hours. Most days I take a morning nap right along with him! The last few weeks when I've peeked in at nap time I've found him in some pretty amusing positions. Wednesday, August 28, 2013. For making...

High Heels & Combat Boots: Reasons my 8 month old is crying...
http://highheels-combatboots.blogspot.com/2013/10/reasons-my-8-month-old-is-crying.html
High Heels and Combat Boots. Thursday, October 3, 2013. Reasons my 8 month old is crying. I'm sure you've probably seen the site "Reasons my son is crying". Children cry for all kinds of ridiculous (and hilarious! Reasons. Charlie is usually a great little guy who isn't too fussy during the day, but this morning was really difficult and I sent Phil a very grumpy text after a few hours. It went something like this. Reasons Charlie has cried today:. Daddy got him out of bed, not Mommy. I changed his diaper.

High Heels & Combat Boots: June 2013
http://highheels-combatboots.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
High Heels and Combat Boots. Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Motherhood is hard. In fact, being a parent is the hardest thing I have ever done. Completing my undergrad in three years while working full-time and commuting 45 minutes to school? Easy-peasy. Moving across country to a place I'd never been before and then having my just-married to husband go underway for a month? A breeze. Surviving countless duty days, underways, and a combined 12 months of deployment? Snoozing next to you will be up to eat in just...
