Journey to Silence & Back to Sound: March Updates
http://journeytosilence.blogspot.com/2013/03/march-updates.html
Journey to Silence and Back to Sound. Friday, March 29, 2013. I just wanted to post a quick update to the blog as it has been a while. I am still doing awesomely amazing considering how deaf I was a year and a half ago. My life has changed so very much. Some of my recent successes:. Hearing a speech given in a microphone in the church gym while I was in the back. I also was turned away from the speaker and helping myself to seconds on the food table. I heard every word. And by the way, I'm pregnant. ...

Journey to Silence & Back to Sound: Pregnancy and Hearing Loss
http://journeytosilence.blogspot.com/2013/07/pregnancy-and-hearing-loss.html
Journey to Silence and Back to Sound. Sunday, July 28, 2013. Pregnancy and Hearing Loss. My belly at 25ish weeks. The countdown is on. Two weeks to go and we get to meet our little boy. Maybe we'll even have a name for him by then. This whole naming your child thing is so difficult! As I've said before and as I'll say again, pregnancy wrecks havoc on our bodies. Is it worth it? Journey to Silence & Back to Sound: Arise
http://journeytosilence.blogspot.com/2014/09/arise.html
Journey to Silence and Back to Sound. Thursday, September 25, 2014. I started a private practice! I know, I know, I am crazy. I have 3 little kids I adore that need as much attention as I can give them. I have this crazy, random, illness that threatens to take away my functioning (Meniere's Disease). However, I need to work part time to contribute to the family finances. So if I need to work anyways, why not work for myself, right? So happy for you! And by a company to build you mean doterra, right?

Journey to Silence & Back to Sound: Back to Work
http://journeytosilence.blogspot.com/2012/01/back-to-work.html
Journey to Silence and Back to Sound. Thursday, January 19, 2012. My afternoon session was much harder. How do I give more than 150% of my energy and accomodations? I can't. I pray for mercy. It was granted. I felt guidance from above and I made it through and hopefully my client felt it was a productive session. Lucky to be the mom. I believe your clients are probably very understanding, even excited about this process.bless them for being patient and understanding. Many high fives for your staff! Day 2...

Journey to Silence & Back to Sound: A Human Voice!
http://journeytosilence.blogspot.com/2012/01/human-voice.html
Journey to Silence and Back to Sound. Friday, January 27, 2012. I am so excited! I heard human. My 11 year old nephew came over and he is a pretty quiet kid. I really have not heard him well in years. Tonight, when he spoke, he sounded human! Still some distortion and mechanical sounds to his voice but the majority of his voice sounded like a human's voice. I am so excited. Someone I can almost understand! Your nephew must have felt special for being the first human voice! I wonder what it is. This is wh...

Journey to Silence & Back to Sound: January 2015
http://journeytosilence.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Journey to Silence and Back to Sound. Sunday, January 25, 2015. Earlier this week, Cochlear Americas shared my story. On their blog. The positive response has amazed me. I find it SO interesting that I have gone from hiding behind my hearing loss to opening myself up to the world in such a short amount of time. Though it also makes me feel quite vulnerable, I am grateful to have a voice. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The original intention of this blog:. Activated on January 5, 2012. 3 month post activation.

Journey to Silence & Back to Sound: Gratitude
http://journeytosilence.blogspot.com/2012/11/gratitude.html
Journey to Silence and Back to Sound. Sunday, November 18, 2012. Tis the Season to be grateful. Honestly, I feel grateful every day. I remember well this time last year how isolated and anxious I felt each day. So much has changed in the last year for me. I rarely feel lonely. I rarely feel anxious about communicating. I am sooooo lucky! The greatest benefit to my hearing abilities is understanding my children. Here's just a few examples:. Whenever we go outside and there is snow, the kids immediately ru...
