The Adventures of Elizabeth: February 2015
http://elizabethhousestlouis.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Feb 26, 2015. Welcome to a world of fun. Hello my lovely friends! I hope this cold winter day (or maybe not so cold for some of you around the world) is treating you well. Right now, a few flurries are slowly falling through the cloudy skies - makes me want to curl up in a beautiful quilt. How about you? Well, I cannot think of, hunt down, or even begin to create any quilt that equals Tula Pink's. If I didn't love Tula so much, I would be green with envy, but instead.I am just tickled pink! Love her fire...

Saving Tomato Seeds | Wild Gourd Farm
https://wildgourdfarm.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/saving-tomato-seeds
Organic Gardening in St. Louis City. On September 12, 2014. Lots of times the crop itself must be sacrificed for the seeds (like allowing greens to bolt), but not tomatoes! To save tomato seeds, you. Simply remove the seeds, allow them to try, and package them up for next year. However, it is highly recommended that you ferment the seeds first. You know that gelatinous coating around tomato seeds? Fermenting the seeds is easier than it sounds! Don’t forget to label! Depending on conditions inside your ho...

Susan's Musings: Garden 2011
http://susama.blogspot.com/p/garden-2011.html
A little bit of everything. There has been less planting lately, but we are still getting some new things out there. Over the past few weeks, here is what we have added:. Many varieties of tomato plants- Marsha. Brought over multiple seedlings that she grew in her basement, and she wasn't even sure which kinds were going in here. Eggplant- at least two different varieties. Pepper plants, because the seeds didn't seem to be sprouting. Finally, we are getting more usable stuff! This was so refreshing!

The Almost Vegan Project: November 2010
http://almostveganproject.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Menu, 11/29 - 12/3, along with some Thanksgiving stuff. On Thanksgiving, I made cranberry sauce, mashed sweet potatoes with maple syrup and margarine, mushroom gravy, roasted Brussels sprouts, seamed green beans, and a roasted buttenut squash dressing. Here is a picture of the meal:. Monday: Chickpea noodle soup, from Veganomicon, without the mushrooms, since I am the only one who likes them (and we were out anyway), leftover steamed green beans and spinach. Links to this post.

The Almost Vegan Project: October 2010
http://almostveganproject.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 29, 2010. Using up the garden: turnip greens, garlic, Anaheim chilis. One of my favorite ways to use up veggies is to add extra veggies to a likely looking recipe. I think most recipes are improved by adding more veggies, with improved taste and definitely superior nutrition! I found a couple of good candidates for this treatment when I was deciding what to make for dinner last night. For French White Bean and Cabbage Soup. For the main dish, I found this awesome recipe. This did call for...

The Almost Vegan Project: Good fast dinner
http://almostveganproject.blogspot.com/2009/06/good-fast-dinner.html
Sunday, June 21, 2009. I didn't take a picture of this, but I had to post, because it was fantastic. Also, the girl complained a lot and tried to get me to give the extra plain rice that I made for a future meal, but when she finally tried it, she loved it! I was looking around online, trying to find all my old blogs on my new computer, when I came across this tahini onion sauce recipe. On the side we had green and purple beans from the garden. Well, not actually my garden, but the gardeners.

Growing Black Beans | Wild Gourd Farm
https://wildgourdfarm.wordpress.com/2014/09/28/growing-black-beans
Organic Gardening in St. Louis City. On September 28, 2014. This year we only planted one teepee trellis of Trail of Tears black beans we had saved from last year. It’s a pole bean variety, so it likes to climb. We constructed a simple teepee out of dried bamboo and twine and planted about 20 black beans around the base. As you can see in the photo to the left, taken in late July, the vines completely overtook the trellis. If you time it out right, you can get another flush of beans before it gets too co...
