http://unabuonaforchetta.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 24, 2011. Yesterday I met up with some of the Michigan Lady Food Bloggers for a soup swap. I brought my tub of chowder and went home with five large containers of soup, which will feed me for days. My offering was a vegetable chowder. 4 tsp canola oil. 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced. 1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced. 1/2 cup shallots, minced. 1 tsp curry powder. 3 cups corn kernels. 3/4 lb red-skinned potatoes, cut into 1/4-inch cubes. 1 cup vegetable broth. Freshly ground black pepper.

Monday, October 5, 2009. My Blog Is Moving. I've been working on a new look for my blog. Since Blogger wasn't really letting me do some of the things I wanted to (like have pages for certain topics) I decided to switch to Wordpress. From now on I'll be posting over at http:/ marriedtothefarm.wordpress.com/. This page will stay up for awhile as a jumping off point but please change your links for updated posts. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but I think it will be worth it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Wednesday, July 29, 2009. More About That Sheep. Update. This is a continuation of yesterday's post about a lamb we found dead. It might bore you but I thought some people might be interested in what we suspect to be the real cause of death, especially if you might raise sheep of your own someday. So what killed her? More on the fair later, just wanted to update on this first! Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Disturbing Find and Thinking Like A Farmer. Any similar experiences to share? Monday, July 27, 2009.

Becker Farms: March 2009
http://beckerfarms.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 29, 2009. Things are getting rough: in order to keep my sanity, it has come time to enforce two new rules that I've been putting off for awhile. Here's the first one:. I made this nifty little sign and taped it up on the door between our entryway and kitchen. I couldn't think of a better way to get the point across! What's the shoe policy at your house? How do you enforce it? I'm ready to be rued if I have to - I'm so sick of the mess! My husband likes to say that he can work 14 hours on th...

Una Buona Forchetta: January 2012
http://unabuonaforchetta.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Saturday I picked up my half lamb order from Back Forty Acres. I decided to use the meat from the lamb chops I received instead of cutting up my only shoulder roast. The chops were on the small side and I didn't know what else I could use them for. I went to work with my boning knife and eventually I had a bowl with about 1.5 lbs of lamb meat in it. My house still smells like curry. Rogan Josh (Indian Lamb Stew). 1/4 cup canola oil. 2 onions, thinly sliced (3 cups). Return the ...

http://unabuonaforchetta.blogspot.com/2011/06/june-spice-rack-challenge-mint.html
Thursday, June 2, 2011. June Spice Rack Challenge: Mint. Wow So much for posting every month in 2011. Slacker, thy name is Sun Runner. But! Yesterday I picked up my first box of the season from Tantre Farm. Oh, glorious green bounty of spinach, kale, lettuce, tatsoi, spicy mix, radishes, green onions, and asparagus! Isolate your mint, or it will advance on the rest of your garden like the Visigoths on Rome! Heavy on the mint. Perfect for this month's Spice Rack Challenge. But what mint to use? View my co...

Una Buona Forchetta: November Spice Rack Challenge: Cinnamon
http://unabuonaforchetta.blogspot.com/2011/11/november-spice-rack-challenge-cinnamon.html
Monday, November 21, 2011. November Spice Rack Challenge: Cinnamon. Said: "Surely you've got cinnamon in your spice rack.". Of course I do. It's one of those things- -along with thyme and chili powder- -that my spice collection never lacks. We think of cinnamon primarily as a baking spice. Not so! It is very versatile. Sauteed Butternut Squash with Cinnamon. Olive oil (and/or butter). Heat oil or butter in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Butter does provide a richness of flavor that is missing with ...
