Food in Indonesia | Backpacker in disguise
https://backpackerindisguise.wordpress.com/2016/01/02/food-in-indonesia
Dreamer. Traveller. Food Lover. My best friend and I spent three incredible weeks travelling through Indonesia, trying as many local dishes as we could. This spanned from local street stalls to cooking classes and fancy restaurants in five star hotels. It helped travelling with a foodie as she did the main bulk of research in where to eat popular dishes. The best chicken satay from a street cart. Gudeng – speciality in Yogyakarta. Suckling pig at Ibu Oka Ubud. Crispy duck – Bebek Bengil, Ubud. Notify me ...
Colours of the rainbow – Notting Hill | Backpacker in disguise
https://backpackerindisguise.wordpress.com/2016/04/03/colours-of-the-rainbow-notting-hill
Dreamer. Traveller. Food Lover. Colours of the rainbow – Notting Hill. Along Portobello Road the street is lined with stalls selling souvenirs, antiques, clothes and other random bits and pieces. Even with the stalls causing a distraction it’s not hard to miss the coloured houses. Most are grouped together in surrounding streets showcasing the different shades of the rainbow. I liked the vibe down here, I felt relaxed and calm even with the street crawling with tourists. Colourful mews – Alba Mews. Leave...
A free Sunday afternoon in London | Backpacker in disguise
https://backpackerindisguise.wordpress.com/2016/03/24/a-free-sunday-afternoon-in-london
Dreamer. Traveller. Food Lover. A free Sunday afternoon in London. For the first time in a while I had a free weekend and decided to take my new camera out and mess around with it. I love days like these as I get lost in my thoughts and wander aimlessly around. I stuck to zone 1 starting from Kensington Gardens walking down to Piccadilly Circus and St James Park. I felt like such a tourist. Prince Albert memorial – Kensington Gardens. Bird watching at Kensington Gardens. Outside The Ritz Hotel. Post was ...

Dreamer. Traveller. Food Lover. Shri Swaminarayan Mandir – Neasden. A while back as I flicked through a Timeout magazine on my commute to work and came across of a photo of Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. I had no idea a building so majestic and stunning existed in London, I mean there are a lot of beautiful architecture in London but I expected something like this to be in Asia. The Mandir is free to visit but there are a few guidelines you need to follow which can be found on their site here. This entry was ...

Foreign Food Affair: July 2014
http://foreignfoodaffair.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Enjoy the ramblings from my belly. Friday, July 25, 2014. It's not very often I dine at higher end restaurants so when my friend suggested eating at Christopher's. In Covent Gardens, I couldn't wait to try it especially after reading about their beef steaks. Inimum 30-day aged from Black Angus. Cattle and parmesan truffle fries as a side. The parmesan truffle fries were tasty, but I expected better from a place like this. I thought the meal and service at Christopher's. Tuesday, July 15, 2014. As you wal...
Foreign Food Affair: Lime Orange
http://foreignfoodaffair.com/2014/07/lime-orange.html
Enjoy the ramblings from my belly. Wednesday, July 9, 2014. I know the area around Victoria station pretty well as it's my gateway to heading down south to visit my family, and in all the years I've been in the area I've never noticed Lime Orange. It wasn't until the other day when my sister came up to London and craved sushi, so I Googled sushi restaurants around Victoria, and Lime Orange a Korean/ Japanese restaurant cropped up in the search results. Our spread of Korean yummy goodness. If you wanted t...

Enjoy the ramblings from my belly. Friday, October 24, 2014. It's been a long time since my last blog post, life has been crazy and then I went on holiday for three weeks which didn't help. I'm looking through my photos and boy do I have a big backlog to fill. So to start a couple weeks ago my friend and I stopped off at Bibimbap. For dinner after a long day shopping and woo they do a great Korean bibimbap. Prior to visiting I read countless reviews on Bibimbap. They say the best way to eat Bibimbap is t...
Foreign Food Affair: Dotori - Finsbury Park
http://foreignfoodaffair.com/2014/08/dotori-finsbury-park.html
Enjoy the ramblings from my belly. Saturday, August 16, 2014. Dotori - Finsbury Park. There is only one reason why I'd be near Finsbury Park and that's to go see Arsenal play. Usually I stop off at one of those hog dog vans on the walk towards the Emirates Stadium, who charge a premium price for a bit of meat and bread but after reading so many positive reviews on UrbanSpoon about Dotori, I thought this place was a must visit. Restaurant before the influx of hungry people. Spicy pork bbq with lettuce.
Foreign Food Affair: Penang! - Westfield Shepherds Bush
http://foreignfoodaffair.com/2013/10/penang-westfield-shepherds-bush.html
Enjoy the ramblings from my belly. Tuesday, October 22, 2013. One of my favourite things about Westfield (Shepherds Bush) is the ample of selection of restaurants dotted around the shopping centre. My usual go to spot is the "hawker centre" area inside Westfield, but today my friend and I decided on dining out on the Southern Terrace. The restaurant which stuck out most was Penang! With its bright, bold, blue exterior. The menu is inspired by Malaysian street food where the name say it all. Penang! Ome d...
Foreign Food Affair: December 2014
http://foreignfoodaffair.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Enjoy the ramblings from my belly. Friday, December 5, 2014. Being Vietnamese I'm usually quite picky when it comes to dining out at Oriental restaurants but I read a lot of positive reviews from Banh Mi Bay. Just off Chancery Lane and thought it looked too good to miss. Shredded caramel pork banh mi. Got it right. I really liked it. Banh xeo and summer rolls. Location: 2-6 Theobalds Road, London WC1X 8PN, UK. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Roti King - London Euston. You cant get a...

Foreign Food Affair: Ed's Easy Diner
http://foreignfoodaffair.com/2014/07/eds-easy-diner.html
Enjoy the ramblings from my belly. Wednesday, July 2, 2014. I like the concept of American diners as I feel it reels me back into the 70s and at Ed's Easy Diner. Everything from the chequered floor, jukebox, neon lights and high red stools at the counter made me feel like I was in a scene from Grease. Just needed the T-Birds to jump out. This was my second time at Ed's Easy Diner. De-luxe pulled pork dog. Location: 14 Woodstock Street, Mayfair, London W1C, UK. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jackson ...
Foreign Food Affair: The Mighty Meat Market
http://foreignfoodaffair.com/2014/07/the-mighty-meat-market.html
Enjoy the ramblings from my belly. Tuesday, July 15, 2014. The Mighty Meat Market. I heard and read so much about Meat Market. Meat Mission etc from friends, collegues, almost everyone path I've crossed in London and today I finally visited this burger joint to see what all the commotion was about. Out of the three Meat chains I visited Meat Market. Looking across Meat Market. Absolutely stuffed after overdosing on meat. The only negative I have and seems like I'm not the only one who thinks this, is tha...

Soaking up wonders of the Earth. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. The case for Uruguay. July 8, 2013. And in South America, I was definitely confusing Uruguay, Paraguay, and the Guianas, not to mention Suriname. Actually, I still need a tad of help from Google to put everything up north in order, but I’m definitely (and thankfully) worlds away from ever asking. Is that in where exactly is Uruguay? Well, to eliminate any doubts, Uruguay is right here:. I thought it’s some poor 3. My Uru...
