Baptista Maresh Vineyard ~ Pinot Noir
http://www.dundeepinot.com/coming.html
In 2015 (from the 2013 Harvest), we will offer our first three-clone blend, fulfilling Dave and Suzanne's dream. This will be the first harvest of the Dijon clone, as that block pushes to make its first, best impression. Baptista Maresh Vineyard is exclusively Pinot Noir, and is in very limited supply. This blend was selected in consultation with those who began the Oregon wine industry, including Jim Maresh (Dave Maresh's dad), Dick Erath, Dave Lett and Fred Arterberry (Dave's brother-in-law).

The 2010 Baptista Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir. For ordering information, see the Contact. The 2009 Baptista Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir. A jewel of a wine; clear and ruby red. In the mouth, silky cherry and blackberry. Haunting taste of the earth; clean, fertile and full of minerals. A wonderful food wine - it's hard to put your glass down! Our first wine made by Jay Somers, this vintage proves why Pinot Noir is the Queen of Wines. The finish is amazing, and soft tannins will reward cellaring.

From around 1900 until the 1960's, the Red Hills of Dundee were covered in prune orchards. The Maresh family farm, with 27 acres, began in 1959,and at one point spanned 200 acres across the Red Hills, well before grapes were planted in the Willamette Valley. The family orchards included prunes, walnuts, cherries, and filberts.
