Monday, February 4, 2008. This is a photo taken from the ridge looking down on Nance and the Changuinola River to its right. Huge areas have been cleared and graded for the roads and future buildings. During the ride, I asked my friend Pancho how things were in Nance and he simply said, "Changed.". This is a photo of Ineida who sleeps next to me in front of the hut. The bucket is to go fetch water from a faucet since their faucet is broken. There is no potable water in the village. Talking about the Dam.

Friday, February 8, 2008. Charco La Pava- the front lines. Sneaking In to Charco. Three days ago I woke up at four thirty in the morning to take a truck along the new road along the Changuinola river up to Charco La Pava from Nance. By going so early, we hoped to avoid the police who would still be asleep at their camp along the way. Arcadio and Ineida went with me and dropped me off right across from Charco and we waited as Benero came to take me across by boat. A swim in the river with some of the kids.

Thursday, June 19, 2014. It's crazy to think that we have been here for so long already. It definitely doesn't feel like vacation. I started working June 4th and I love my job. I am so thankful that the job that I thought I wanted didn't work out because this one is great. I work for two wonderful doctors and have kind and hilarious coworkers. Mary is loving being close to her Mimi/Pops and Gigi/Papaw plus all her aunts, uncles, and cousins. It definitely is great being so close to our family again.
