Back to Natives Portfolio. Saturday, January 5, 2008. Laguna Beach Garden in Winter Spleandor! This garden is reminiscent of mature Coastal Sage Scrub, just 8 months after planting! The soil at this location was just perfect. Now, with some restrained pruning, and the recent rains, these folks are in for a MAGNIFICENT show in the Spring! This made me want to plant native strawberries as groundcover in MY yard! Costa Mesa Garden Grows. Coyote Brush and Bladderpod. Buckwheat and False Indigo.

This Newport Beach Native Plant Landscape was planted by volunteers at a Back to Natives Landscape workshop last January (2010). See photos of the workshop HERE. I love the way the dudleya and the grasses look in the DG (decomposed granite) mulch. The frequent rain gave it a jump start and it looks fabulous in thes photos taken this Spring!
