The Backyard Bartender: June 2014
http://backyardbartender.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2014. The Quick and Dirty Daiquiri. More fancy stuff comin soon, I promise, but in the meantime, something distinctly not fancy. It's a delicious daiquiri that you can make with only three ingredients, which you probably already have around the house. (Okay, so maybe you don't always keep limes around the house, but I recommend you change that. Fresh lime juice is an essential part of the good life.). Thus was born: The Quick and Dirty Daiquiri. What you will need:. BEST OF THE BACKYARD.
The Backyard Bartender: A particularly easy (and satisfying) method for making crushed ice.
http://backyardbartender.blogspot.com/2010/05/particularly-easy-and-satisfying-method.html
Monday, May 31, 2010. A particularly easy (and satisfying) method for making crushed ice. Since my next cocktail calls for crushed ice, I thought I'd share this super-easy way I've discovered to make crushed ice. My previous method was: buy something at whole foods. Ask for one of the little bags of ice they give you to keep your groceries cold on the way home. Voila! Place a few cubes of ice in a gallon ziplock bag. Place the bag on your countertop. Beat the bag mercilessly with a rolling pin.
The Backyard Bartender: The Gold Rush - A Deliciously Simple Cocktail with a Twist.
http://backyardbartender.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-gold-rush-deliciously-simple.html
Monday, November 12, 2012. The Gold Rush - A Deliciously Simple Cocktail with a Twist. Not me. Cocktails are delicious. But I am lazy. Lately, the thing I find myself reaching for is not a beer, or even a nice tall glass of wine. It's a Gold Rush, a delicious (and stupidly simple) amalgamation of bourbon, lemon and honey. Jason gets credit for discovering the Gold Rush when we went to LA's Copa D'Oro. 75 oz lemon juice (fresh-squeezed, and don't cheat). 75 oz honey syrup. From the Lush Chef. Im also a pa...
The Backyard Bartender: Kool-Aid Cocktails, aka CRUNK JUICE.
http://backyardbartender.blogspot.com/2011/04/kool-aid-cocktails-aka-crunk-juice.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. Kool-Aid Cocktails, aka CRUNK JUICE. At my old job (the one where I used to be an architect), my co-worker Nubia would tease me about making recipes for crunk juice. I had to ask her what that meant. I am not crunk. Crunk juice is a combination of Hennesy and Red Bull, preferably drunk from a pimp cup. First, I decided to do a little research (thanks, google! Have Kool-Aid in them (obviously),. Be easy to make,. Inspired by that quintessential New Orleans cocktail, the Hurricane.
The Backyard Bartender: MxMo LVIII: Carmen Sandiego.
http://backyardbartender.blogspot.com/2011/06/mxmo-lviii-carmen-sandiego.html
Monday, June 20, 2011. MxMo LVIII: Carmen Sandiego. Ever since I spent all that time making a balsamic syrup for that one cocktail. I swore that some way, some how, I was going to use that stuff again. It was, understandably, a bit tricky; you can't put a syrup made from balsamic vinegar in just any drink. Enter, propitiously, this month's Mixology Monday. Whose theme is "Niche Spirits" (with your host Filip at Adventures in Cocktails. And also from this delicious pear sour. I know I can. 1 oz Poire Will...

The Backyard Bartender
Thursday, January 18, 2018. Here's a Little Something to Keep You Warm. Eight years ago I visited New York for the first time, and the first bar I ever went to in the city was a little underground cocktail joint called PDT. The first drink I ordered there was something so weird and exotic I could barely wrap my mind around it - an old fashioned made with bacon infused bourbon. Yes, you read that right. Bacon. Here I am, circa 2010, enjoying a bacon old fashioned and some tater tots. 1 whole anise star.
