http://bademillsapgermany2012.blogspot.com/2012/06/freiberg-college-town.html
Friday, June 15, 2012. Freiberg . a college town. Today our German hostess, Rosi, drove us into the city of Freiberg. Freiberg is a bustling college town filled with young people on bicycles. We walked over to the central market in the center of town to find a very busy open air marketplace with vendors selling everything from carrots to wood carvings. Rosi told us the market was up and running every day! A few pics of the church to give an idea of size . The inside of the cathedral is impressive . Im cu...

Great Britain Odyssey 2010: Oct 3, 2010
http://bademillsapgreatbritain2010.blogspot.com/2010_10_03_archive.html
Great Britain Odyssey 2010. A journal of our trip through Great Britain in 2010. Sunday, October 3, 2010. Some really old "stuff" and a taste of home . Nachos and Sol - there's hope for London after all! Of course there's nothing we can do about either one but coupled with a rainy forecast it was just a little much. This morning we woke to skies that were cloudy but not pouring, the terror threat had been reduced to a nebulous warning to be careful (well duh! The museum is HUGE! The front door . From Gre...

Germany 2012: Rothenburg
http://bademillsapgermany2012.blogspot.com/2012/06/rothenburg.html
Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Today we had a leisurely breakfast at our Guest House in Dinkelsbuhl. And then motored up the road to the walled town of Rothenburg. Like Dinkelsbuhl this is a "walled city" and on the inside of the wall is basically a very old historic village. Carolyn and Linda spent considerable time shopping here . Woodie and I sat at a cafe and drank Lattes . it was about 45F . cold for June if you ask me! The area outside the wall was stunning . You could walk along the top of the wall .

http://bademillsapgermany2012.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 29, 2012. I think we're all Bozos on this bus ." or Clem and Barney go to Germany . Once again the "intrepid old fogy's" venture forth on an adventure of incredible daring-do. This time they will travel to Germany to bask in the old world Bavarian culture, sail down the River Rhine, visit castles, churches, beer gartens and other Teutonic treats. Our first three nights will be at this lovely guest house near the Rhein. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Subscribe here for email updates to the blog.

http://bademillsapgermany2012.blogspot.com/2012/06/we-saw-see-and-glass-factory.html
Thursday, June 14, 2012. We saw a "See" and a glass factory . In Germany a "see" is what we call a lake . so lot's of small towns are "am see" meaning "on the lake". Today we drove thru the black forest to Titisee . a lake . The drive was really pretty since today was really our first day of good warm sunshine . The "see" was basically . a lake . We did have cheeseburgers for lunch . and enjoyed them very much! Our German hostess Rosi fixed what we would call "Chili beans" for dinner and they were great!

Germany 2012
http://bademillsapgermany2012.blogspot.com/2012/06/for-us-it-is-monday-june-4-about-430pm.html
Monday, June 4, 2012. For us it is Monday June 4 about 4:30PM. We arose this morning in Braunfels, had breakfast at our inn and loaded up the car for the 3 hour or so drive to Dinkelsbuhl. This is a photo of the inn we stayed at in Braunfels:. Dinkelsbuhl is a beautiful small village (on the "inside of the wall" ) of only a few thousand people. We are staying at a "Guest house" similar to a bed and breakfast. The rooms are VERY nice . A couple of other shots of Dinkelsbuhl . Tomorrow we will motor up the...

http://bademillsapgermany2012.blogspot.com/2012/06/today-was-down-day-for-us.html
Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Today was a "down day" for us . no travel and no real planned activity. We are in Dinkelsbuhl until tomorrow morning. We did take a stroll around the inside of the wall of Dinkelsbuhl . here are some pictures I took on that walk around the town. There are a number of "tower" in the wall . used both as gates into the city and as signal towers between villages . This is a huge church for such a small village . Three towers in one shot .
